    Okay a few questions....

#1 - How many attendants are you having

#2 - How many is TOO many do you think?

I ask because right now I have:

    5 attendants on each side

    2 JR attendants

    2 flower girls

    1 Ring bear

    And possibly 2 personal attendants

    and 2 ushers

The wedding lady at the church (very LARGE church mind you) was like WOW when I told her.

    1) we're having 6 ladies & 6 guys. that includes MOH & Best Man. No flower girl or ring bearer & no other ushers or attendants or jr's.

    2) i've seen everything from 1-12 per side. Sometimes (like when Im thinking about BM dresses) I feel like our party is too big, but for 150+ guests I think it is about right. plus we think its important to include our siblings & closest friends.

    Here is my wedding party:

    5 attendants on each side
    1 junior best man/junior MOH
    2 ring bears
    1 flower girl
    1 ring bear wagon puller

The junior best man is my 7 year old nephew, and the junior MOH is my fiance's sister.  They won't be standing up during the wedding, but I wanted them to both have a big part of it.

And there will be ushers, most likely 2.

    My wedding party consists of:

    5 Bridesmaids (inc MOH)

    5 groomsmen (inc Best man)

    2 flower girls

    1 ring bear

    2 ushers.

I've seen weddings with 10 attendants on each side,  but I that might be over kill.  I'd say 7 at the max otherwise it looks like you have more people standing up for you than you have guests watching the ceremony.  And it takes time for all the bridemaids to walk in.

    1.) 4 total in wedding party ( 1 MOH/1 Best Man and 1 bridesmaid/ 1 groomsman )

2.) i think over 10 (on each side) is almost too large ( and just think of the costs ! )

I agree with piperbenjamin, besides it seems like everyone has already been asked/accepted so I wouldn't worry about it too much at this point :)  We're having 4 on each side, but we're only having 80 some guests.

No worries. I am in the same situation.

    8 attendants on each side

1 JR attendant on each side

    2 flower girls

    1 Ring bear

    4 ushers

2 friends speaking/doing readings in the ceremony

    1 tea girl

2 young ladies handing out programs

A serious chunk of the budget is going to wedding party expenses. But we both come from really large families (only 4 people in the wedding party are non family members) and we are having a large wedding. I don't think that I am having too many people stand up because everyone of those people are special in my life now and will be for a very very long time. I think that you should have the people important to you standing up there with you even if it is 2 people or 20 people. we do not regret asking any of these people to be in our wedding!

We had 5 BMs and GMs, 1 junior bridesmaid (my 13 yr old daughter) to walk with our 1 ringbearer (our 14 month old son), and 3 ushers. We wanted to inclued our brothers somehow so I decided to have them as ushers so they could each walk their mothers down the aisle. I thought it would make nice photos. I originally had two readings that friends were going to do for us but one ended up dropping out and I made the other a bridesmaid when one of the BMs dropped out so I didn't have anyone to read. I ended up cutting out one of the readings and kept the love poem that I read to my hubby during the ceremony.

We are having a MOH and a Best Man and two flower girls. I'm thinking of recruiting a nephew on each side to be ushers.

I was going to have 5 bridesmaids, prob 4 or 5 groomsmen (includes MOH and Bestmen), 2 ringbearers, 1 flowergirl. But I thought - this is getting crazy (just crazy for me, I think it's fine for others to have bigger bridal parties), I don't want 10+ people standing up there with me. So we are having 1 MOH-my best friend and 2 Bestmen- his brothers. This will be much easier for me to organize!

We have EIGHT on each side, plus two juniors! He comes from a big family (oldest of eight) and we wanted them all in the wedding. It's quite large.
