Oh my god, last weekend I spent 7 hours with my mom baking 16 batches of cookies for favours, not including time for a test batch and grocery shopping.

We did a test run with the recipe we wanted to use, and from the amount of cookies that made calculated how many batches we needed.  We decided on three small cookies per person. (Although I was extremely tempted to downgrade to 2 cookies per person partway through the process.)  So, of course it will depend on how many cookies your recipes make and how many cookies you want to either fill the jar or per guest.

I am also doing a cookie buffet/bar using Mrs. Dumpling’s as an inspiration! I’m thinking of doing about 100-125 of each type of cookie (7-8 different cookies) for 200ish guests. I think that sounds about right, but I have yet to decide…so many choices but I still have plenty of time. I have gathered/purchased 7 different apothecary jars and I’m thinking that 100 cookies won’t fit in the apothecary alone. It will need to be restocked at some point in the night.

I’ve been researching the chinese take out boxes for prices, etc. A lot of the cute frosted and/or color ones aren’t FDA approved for direct food contact so I may just end up with the white ones with a label of some sort. I would not want to make my guests sick!
