Hey Bees! This may sound like a dumb question but, how many bathing suits do I need for an 11-day vacation? I just bought 3 and they were super expensive (Miraclesuits). Is that enough? Will people look at me like I’m gross for only having 3?
Background email…this is for my Destination Wedding. We will have guests for 4 – 5 days and the rest of the time will just be me and Fiance (soon to be hubby…yay!).

I usually bring 2-3 swimsuits on vacation. You’ll be fine with 3.

I think 3’s enough, I don’t think it’s gross if people re-wear swimsuits, most people only have 1 but if you’re on vacation you need enough so you can wear a dry one while the one you wore last is still wet.

Me personally, I would bring more.. but this is coming from the crazy girl who brought SEVEN for a seven day vacation, my thoughts “I’m wearing my bathingsuit all day, so it’s like my outfit.. I need a different one each day.” So maybe I was a little crazy.. but for 11 days I’d probably bring 1 or 2 more. Check out Target or WalMart they have CUTE ones for cheap!!

@VegasSukie: Im buying just one! 🙂

I would say your fine with 3.

I brought two and only wore one the whole time.

@X0JLYNN03: Lol! You’re not crazy at all! I was thinking the same thing actually! But I currently have no bathing suits (thanks to having lost 60 pounds…yay me…lol) and just don’t have it in my budget to buy more than I have unless they are super cheap. And the cheap ones don’t work for me usually because I need more “support”.
@hotchildinthecity and MabelleBliss – thank you! I think I will stick with the 3 unless I can scrape up enough for one more. 🙂

I normally bring two, no matter the length of the vacation. Wear one to the beach/pool, get back, wash the salt/sand off in the sink and hang it up, wear the other until it is dry. repeat.
My thought is that if I am going somewhere that is not dirrectly on the beach I am going to be wearing a dress or a cover up over it, and the only person who is going to see it every day is Darling Husband anyways so it isn’t a huge deal. as long as they are cute

Wow! Thanks for the feedback, ladies! I know it must seem so silly but I, like X0JLYNN03 thought of bathing suits as an “outfit I’m in all day” so I just assumed I should have different ones for each day. Now there is no way I could afford that! Lol! But, I thought maybe I should have at least 5. I feel much better knowing that 1 – 3 is the norm.

3 should be fine. I generally bring at least 3 but I HATE wearing wet suits and I am always sure to bring a variety: one that is sturdy and I’m not going to pop out if I’m really active, one that’s for laying out, maybe a one piece if I’ll be diving, etc. It’s also good to have different cuts so that you don’t get really bad tan lines. But I don’t think anyone would think anything at all about seeing someone in the same suit multiple days.

@X0JLYNN03: lol I’m like you! I love bathing suits though, so any excuse to have more, I’m all for it. So far for our honeymoon I have bought 1, I have til August to buy more, but will probably bring 2 new ones I got last year.
I think 3 would be enough for you. I’m just crazy in that I like to have options, I also like to match my clothes/dresses with my bathing suit if I’m on my vacay. I know…..crazy lol

Just make sure you bring a little bit of detergent and you can wash them in the bathroom sink and hang them out to dry. I personally brough 8 bathing suits on my 12 day honeymoon, but I think Darling Husband only brought 4 and that was fine. I am prone to UTI’s so I need to change during the day so that is my main reason for brining more.

I count on wearing my bikinis like an outfit all 7 days I’m in Cancun so I will bring at least 3 🙂 I may pick up another suit or two between now and Julyl if I see some really cute ones.

@VegasSukie: for 11 days i’d bring about 5-6 at least. while on vacation, i wear a bathing suit every day so it’s only good for 2 days max. if you’re in the ocean, it’s going to get sandy.
i have a lot of bikinis though. i usually buy them at the end of the season to stock up. you can buy less expensive ones at walmart, sears or target.
you can wash it out in the sink at night and hang it up i suppose.
