    Hey ladies!

I have been planning my strategy for the wee hours of the morning on Friday, when I'll be taking on the Black Friday crowds by myself... none of my friends are as crazy as I am I guess...

I got to thinking... how many bees will be out on Black Friday? What kinds of things are you hoping to get deals on?

@7SEVENJ9: I think that I might go out this weekend, but not early. I am not a morning person, so I'll go late morning or so. I just want clothes, for the most part. What about you?

I am thinking about hitting up some of the stores for good clothes deals.  Not like you can try anything on but I'll buy it and return later if needed.

I am also trying to sort out my christmas list to see what I can buy now while its on sale.  I still need something for my dad, his dad, and some of the little kids.

If I had a ton of extra money I would love an DSLR, a PS3 for the hubby, and a new laptop!

I'll be in line at Best Buy at 2am! Then I plan to hit Target and Walmart... the bad thing is that most of the stuff is for DH and me, and not necessarily Christmas shopping.

Best Buy: I plan to get the Nook e-Reader, which is on sale for $99 instead of $149. I asked DH for this for Christmas, and we both agree that since he has to work on Friday, it doesn't take the romance out of it if I buy it and he wraps it up and picks out some books to load on there for me :) Since we have a joint bank account, we'd rather save the $50 than have him go out and pay full price some other day! Also, the Wii game NHL Slapshot will be on sale for $39.99 instead of $59.99, and I'll be getting that for DH for Christmas. Then our DC25 Dyson Animal Vacuum that we registered for is $399, when it's usually $549!

Target: We're doing framed wedding photos for aunts, uncles, and siblings for Christmas this year, as our pro pics just came back. Target has a box of 10 frames for $12, usually $25. Then 8GB micro SD cards are on sale for $14.99, which is 50% off, and both DH and I need those for our new phones (and for the nook!). They're also offering a $10 gift card with any $100 purchase.

Wal-Mart: TV on DVD - my SIL and her boyfriend really love "Sons of Anarchy" but don't have DVR, so these seasons are only $12 instead of $60 on Black Friday! Also, True Blood dvds are $12, so I'll be getting those for DH for Christmas too! Wal-Mart also has a 10-piece frame set for $7, similar to the ones at Target, though I think the Target ones are better quality.

That's my plan as of now, I'll probably hit Kohl's too, they have some great sales on Black Friday. I also need a pair of winter boots!

Hell no!! I hate crowds and I dont like shopping that much in general so Black Friday sounds like hell to me. Plus I'll be in the middle of nowhere in Georgia (the closest Walmart is like 45 minutes) so there isn't any Black Friday shopping going on anyways!

I don't know if I will. Its funny because as much as I am NOT a morning person, my mom and I always always go out on Black Friday either at like 4am, or sometimes the night before (our outlets open at 11pm on thanksgiving, so one year we went at like 12 and shopped until like 3, then went to dennys to wait for the mall to open at 5 haha).

The funny thing is that I don't usually have all that much to buy, its just really fun to be out and part of the shopping crowd! This year in particular I can't really think of anything I need to buy.

We'll be out and about!  We haven't scoured all the ads yet, but we'll definitely be at Best Buy at 2am, sigh.  It's actually kind of festive once you finally get a cup of coffee all the way down...we'll be with you in spirit!  We'll be grabbing an iPod touch (there, or at apple.com if the price drops; Apple hasn't released ads yet) for Peanut's Christmas present.  We had that same discussion about "does it take out the romance of the present if you know what's coming?" and decided that, since we share a bank account, it was in both of our best interests to save the money and spoil the surprise.

Did you know the Nook worked with Overdrive, the download/borrow system most libraries use?  I am a devout Kindle user on my iPod, but boy does that make the Nook more appealing.

We might also hit up Michaels and/or Lowes for a Christmas tree, depending on sale prices, and REI for some running and hiking gear.

I was hoping to avoid it this year because I think it ruined the spirit of Christmas for me last year.  We were out from 10pm on Thursday until 7am on Friday and didn't get any of the things we stood in line for.  We were at Old Navy 3 hours prior to store opening, were very close to the front of the line, and still didn't manage to snag the free Wii game that they were giving out, how does that work??

Anyway, my husband decided he wanted to get me a laptop, and he is not the type to try and hide it from me because he wants to make sure that is what I really want before he buys it.  We had also planned on buying each of the girls a Nintendo DS because they has been asking for them since before last Christmas.

Lo and Behold, Walmart's Black Friday ad comes out and they have the laptops for $199 and the DS' for $89 (regular $149).  So there is no way I can avoid at least trying to snag them on Black Friday.  Especially since our normal Christmas budget is $150 on each other and $100 on each of our daughters, that really helps stay a little bit more within budget.  I also saw the frame set at Target for $12 which I am very interested in, and Walmart has a collage frame or a box of like 10 frames or something for $7, so I might just do that instead since Target will probably be sold out by the time I get there.

Because my brother has to work on Thanksgiving, we're celebrating Thanksgiving on Black Friday.... so I guess that means I won't be going out.

@BunnyBrideToBe - I didn't know that about the Overdrive/Nook! That's great! I had looked at the Kindle, and while I liked the overall look and feel of it, I like that the Nook allows more formats of books to be used.

I just hope I am far enough forward in the line to get the ticket for the nook. Best Buy in my area hands out tickets, first-come first-serve for all of their doorbusters to those in line - they walk upthe line and ask "who's here for the nook?" and you get a ticket. Then you're guaranteed that item, instead of pushing and shoving.

@CorgiTales! I hear ya! Even on years when I dont have specific things in mind, I love going out, you meet some great people! Last year, the people next to me in line actually had a pizza delivered to the line at 3am! It was great, and so funny listening to him give the pizza guy directions to where we were standing!

@7SEVENJ9: omg thats hilarious! We never actually stand in line bc we're never going for big ticket items. usually we plan to get to stores about 30 minutes after they open when the "rush" is gone and the big ticket stuff is prob gone, but there is still lots of good deals to be had. I almost wish I wasn't pretty much done shopping for my FI! lol

I used to go with my SIL (then FSIL) and her cousin... those of you who have read my posts before know why I'm going alone this year! My mom was going to come, but she is having second thoughts, as she doesn't think she'll be able to get up that early. BUT, I actually prefer shopping alone, to be honest, I'm more efficient!

There is absolutely no way :-) My FIs dad goes every year, so he brings the advertisements to Thanksgiving and we pick a few things for him to pick up for us.

I think I prefer Cyber Monday (and online Black Friday deals) over actual Black Friday shopping. But I still may go to a few stores since I'm off that day and there are some good deals out there.

This will be my first year going since I've had to work the past couple of years. I'm crazy excited! My bff and I (and maybe our boyfriends and a couple other people) plan to hit the nearby Tanger Outlets at the midnight sale, then she plans to head to Target (I might have her pick up few things for me there also hehe) and I will hit Kohl's & Penney's, Belk, and Best Buy. Then with the big stores out of the way, I'll do all the smaller stores (Bed Bath & Beyond, Radio Shack, Bath & Body Works, BAM/B&N, Pier 1, Hobby Lobby, Shoe Station, World Market) and the clothing stores. I'm actually off all day, so I'll have plenty of time to rest whenever I get done. I just hope it's not too crazy lol. Oh, and I also plan on going to Old Navy on Thurs, Fri, AND Sat for the different deals they will have. I have a whole folder with lists, store maps, routes & schedules, salepapers, coupons, etc. Can't wait for the big Thanksgiving newspaper! I plan to get alot of Christmas gifts out of the way in the early hours of BF and then do some clothes shopping etc for me. :D

Oh goodness. I can't decide if I want to go out or not. Last year I went out and I swear I ended up with bruised arms from people whipping around huge TV boxes. I'm not totally positive if I'll be up for the craziness, but we'll see :) If I do go I always like to go to Bath & Body Works - you can get so much stuff there. I'll also probably go to Kohl's and maybe Macy's for gifts to the grandparents/parents.

I will be working on Black Friday at Victorias Secret. Last year, I had to yell to get the people standing outside the door to even let me get into the store.

Im not really looking forward to it.

I've been the last three years, but this year there really isn't much drawing me out.  I've always avoided Wal-Mart like the plague, but this year's ad is pretty good.

I've long been a proponent of Buy Nothing Day. The most I ever do on Black Friday might be to go out to a restaurant, since I'm always back in my home town around people I haven't seen in a long time. My husband and I might go out this Friday with one of his old college friends.

For those who do want to take advantage of deals but are over the storefront stampedes, I was reading about how this year more and more stores will be offering huge deals online, with some of those deals actually starting on Thanksgiving Day itself. Much easier and much warmer.

@7SEVENJ9: Um.... We're doing the free with $60 purchase tote that we do every year (this years is really cute), buy 1 get 1 50% off all bras, $15 and $25 giftsets, the PJs and robes will be discounted at least $10 off. Also, $25 sweatpants and sweatshirts in Pink, $25 and $30 perfume bottles. Thats all of them I can remember at the moment, but those are the big ones.

Not in a million years will I go shopping on Black Friday - IMO, the deals are just not good enough to justify the crowds/madness/early morning.  I'd rather pay a little more and shop in peace.

okay there is a difference in going at 3am to get some amazing deal at a specific store and what I'll probably do which is casually go by Target or other stores in the afternoon b/c I'm bored.  I'll be alone on Black Friday - family OOT, DH working 12 hrs, friends busy.  So it'll just be a regular day off for me.
