I was just browsing through the list of Blogging Bees, and started to think about how many of them left the Bee without ever doing recaps, or quitting their recaps half way through?
Who can you think of?
Whose recaps would you like to see?
Are there any M.I.A. Bees whose personal blogs you read that have given reasons why they didn't finish?
Just curious..
Mrs. Paisley. I was really excited to see her recaps. I think I saw her wedding on Style Me Pretty a few weeks back.
Mrs. Froggy. Haven't seen her for a while.
I get really excited to see the weddings, and a little sad when they go away!
I was also thinking about Mrs. Paisley. I really want to see the Scissors reception too.
Also, Mrs. Sunrise, who I think is the only Bee ever from my city. :(
I want to see Mrs. Pudding again, but I don't think she's posted in months.
I haven't been on the bee that long so the newer generations (safari) are the ones I met and they are just starting to get married. I met Ms. Cardy and Ms. Barretts and a few others and I am really glad to see their recaps. I would confess though, I've linked on a bee's recap and gone on to read ALL their entries. Yeah, I'm crazy like that. Even though I don't have a DIY bone in my body :(
I think a while back (might have been a few months) there was a thread like this and a few [then]MIA bees came by to let everyone know what the hold up was--mostly it was hectic life & waiting on pictures & albums from photogs.
I can't think of anyone who's MIA right now, but my brain is a little fried today haha.
Here is the Paisley wedding on SMP:

Pudding just started her recaps last week. I missed this entry.

@LeahP: I agree with you! Do you happen to remember just how far back you thought you saw her on Style Me Pretty? I'm about to go hunt through the archives... :)
I just found it and posted it above. I just stalked under the California tag.
I'm waiting for Argyle to start her recaps!! We share the same venue =)
@ILikePink: Mrs. Froggy (or Frog. I can't remember) she said she was going to start the recaps but didn't. Sucks. The recaps are the best part!
@M.Ruder: I want to see Mrs. Argyle too! I only live 2 hours from STL, so she is the closest bride to me, haha!
Mrs. Shortcake! She kind of left us hanging with her horrible photographer. I wanted to hear about the stuff that went well.
Count me as one of the ones waiting for pictures! We had an awesome wedding and I can't wait to share it. I've even started writing the recaps in advance and trying to imagine which pictures to put in. :(
Do you all mind if I make a suggestion? If you like (or are eagerly awaiting) a bee's recaps, shoot her a comment and let her know! I'm not quite sure why this is, but recap posts often get significantly fewer comments than other posts. As a blogger who's about to finish her recaps, I can definitely say that was true for me, at least. Comments are what let us know that people are interested in what we're writing, and I have to admit, I sometimes wondered, "am I wasting people's time? do they not like reading these? should I stop?" when I had a small-ish response. So, if you really love reading a particular blogger's recaps, let her know! I think I can speak for all the bees in saying that we LOVE hearing from you!
Mrs. Paisley had the most discouraging wedding ever because it's JUST as beautiful as those weddings you see on inspiration boards and in wedding shoots and you cut yourself slack that yours won't be that awesome because you're like, "Oh, well NOBODY's wedding could be THAT perfect, it's just a shoot," and then you see hers and you're like.... oh... somebody's actually CAN be that perfect. :/
I really miss Mrs. Bearcub. She was, hands down, my favorite bee, and I started reading the site because of her. I also have not been able to access her blog recently, either. We miss you, bearcub!!
I think I literally check the blog every hour to see if Mrs. Meerkat has posted recaps yet
She is waiting on pro photos, but I can hardly contain myself heheh (We share the same destination)
I think it's really sad when bees disappear or don't do their recaps. I understand that personal issues come up, but sometimes it seems it's not for any reason. There are so many people who apply and would do a great job, it's not fair!
@kirabee: That's kind of how I feel too. So many people apply to be blogger Bees and get denied, and then people get selected that don't finish their recaps. It's kind of frustrating, learning so much about someone's wedding just to have them disappear in the middle of sharing everything.
Then again, blogging is probably hard work and very time consuming - I know how busy life after the wedding gets, and as time passes, I have lost so much interest in our wedding. I couldn't imagine recapping it, LOL. Who knows what is going on in their personal lives too. You just never know.
@missmouse29: I can understand that. Today is our six months married and we still haven't gotten our album, just our proofs. Photographers get busy too! :)
Mrs. Shortcake finished her wedding recaps on her personal blog (ourlittlehaus.com)
Her whole blog is worth a read too, her daughter is super cute.
@kirabee: That's how I feel. So many people apply and get declined, but some of the ones who are accepted don't even attempt a recap.
To everyone: Scissors has been busy with work, I know that for a fact.
IDK about the rest....
I wonder if anyone has ever gone back and looked at the percentage of bees who finish recaps and sign off vs. stop mid-recap vs. disappear without ever starting recaps? I might have a skewed perspective but it seems like probably less than half actually finish their recaps.
I do understand why a lot of them don't... which if I had to guess is less about being busy and more about being "over it" by the time they get their pictures back (I'm a month out from my wedding and I'm already pretty much over it! lol).
But I have extra respect for those who come back and power through their recaps. :)
The recaps really are the best parts!
I love reading Mrs. Buttons recaps. She is writing them, but I am too inpatient to wait for more! It feels like she hasn't written one in forever even though I think she wrote one earlier this week....
I guess I've been around for a long time because I know of many blogging bees who did not come back for recaps, but the biggest disappointment for me was Mrs. Bruschetta. She was the most recent Philly Bee and having a semi-similar wedding to mine (with budget, style, size, etc.) So I wanted to see her recaps before my wedding for inspiration, which never happened.
@CorgiTales: Oh my gosh your so close! I remember when we were both waiting bees! craziness
Ok sorry to threadjack :D
I've been around here forever so I guess the ones I miss most are the older bees who never finished - Bruschetta, Bear Cub, Apple Cider (her wedding was the same time as mine and similar style), Sunrise (the only MN bee ever), and I'm anxiously waiting Poodle and Scissors. Those two are the only reason I stayed around the bee after my wedding. I'm still waiting for them.
@greenebanana: thanks! You just made my day brighter! :) I know I've been taking forever on the recaps... I have some new posts written, I'm just waiting to get my pictures back - Mr. BC and I just moved back to the states, and all our stuff is on a barge from south america. Octopus is right though - little comments like this definitely make it easier to write recaps! :)
After a little stalking, we have Bruschetta wedding photos!

ooooh, i've been waiting for miss sunrise recaps! i just loved her voice and thought she was really creative. i'd definitely enjoy pincushion recaps, too, since we share our reception venue.
it does seem odd when bees just dissapear, since it seems so competitive just to become a bee. i guess life just gets in the way a lot of time. i think maybe letting bees blog so far before their weddings, they can easily get burned out by the time the wedding actually takes place.
miss sandollar was my favorite! not because we have similar styles or tastes, but because she buzzed in, posted the (i thought required) 3-5 per week, recaped asap, and buzzed out. because she only blogged here for a few months, she had really regular posts, and you could really follow along her journey from start to finish.
I know others mentioned them but I'm still really looking forward to reading both the Bearcub and Bruschetta recaps. And was also really looking forward to reading full recaps for Yorkie.
I don't really follow too many of the bees. But I'm stalking Mrs. Husky's recaps... She posts pretty regularly but it's not enough for me!! lol. I'm so in love with her wedding I can't wait to see the rest!
I too would enjoy seeing Ms. Sunrise's recaps because she is the only MN bee. I also want to see Mrs. Seashell's recaps. I loooove her.
Ms. Zebra if your reading you best be puttin up some recaps ASAP after your wedding because I am DYYYYING to see them!
@MsBrooklynA: I'm reading! Thank you! Comments like these really do brighten my day.
