I'd never actually taken the time to count until tonight. I was organizing my drawers and trying to get rid of old clothing and I realized I have a lot of bras!! I counted and I have 16 bras and that's not even including my 6 sports bras.

They all have their own purpose of course. There is the everyday type, push up, racerback, strapless, sexy etc. and i couldn't bring myself to toss any :)

Is this an unusual amount or is this normal? Heck, for all I know I may have very few bras compared to other girls. I'd never really thought about it before!

Anyways, how many do you have?

*cough* I'm down to one, because SOMEBODY put my only other fitting one in the dryer and it broke the underwire...

I have at least 14 because I can go two weeks between laundry, but I probably need to trash at least half of them. I really wear them out and I don't take good care of them when laundering. I could just switch to sports bras though, I have at least 10 of those so I can go to the gym almost every day.

Three, all in the wrong size. Ugh. I'd totally have sixteen if I could afford them, haha. Nice 30Ds aren't cheap, much less easy to find!

ETA: I don't have any sports bras. Apparently I fail at bra ownership.

I have like 10-12, but some of them need to get replaced soon. And only 3 sports bras, which reflects my level of dedication to working out.

BrianneG- I'm sure a few of mine could use replacing too!

Toffee- uggghh I hate when that happens! I had to throw out one because it accidently made it into the dryer and it looked all lumpy when it came out!

MissAsB- that sounds like a good amount. I should really trying and weed out the bad ones...

    I have 20 and 6 sports bras!Embarassed

I only wear about 10 regularly....a few are just sexy ones and others I should probably get rid of but...I probably won't :) Until they are replaced with better, newer ones!

    I love bras/panties/lingerie/spanx/sports bras/etc

Wow...I'm guessing cuz I haven't counted but probably about 15, not including 3 sports bras.

The bad part is, I only wear about 4 of them regularly. I probably haven't worn any of the other ones in at least 2 years, but I can't bring myself to toss them out because they're all practically brand new! Some of them just do NOT fit right. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought them, I guess I was having a 'good boob day' or something because they fit fine in the store!

@Minutiae- only two of mine are actually the correct size! haha! I wear a 32D, but they're hard to find at a decent price so I usually buy a 34c which fits alright, but not as comfortably.

    @magenta- HAHA!

I should mention that 4 of the bras are from my bachelorette party :)

@okqueen I can relate to some not fitting well! I am a "large" C and I have a couple B's that are so sexy and gorgeous but would ONLY wear at home, for my fiance' because they look sexy and push me up but they just are NOT practical since my girls are poppin out.

I have lots of lacy ones and cute colors but on a normal day I'm usually in black, light pink, or blue and don't wear the reds/brights/push ups/lacey/etc much at all...

@bella did you have a lingerie shower? I am having one and can't wait but am a little nervous! I can hardly wear demis (I seem to errr pop out!) and push ups arn't exactly needed for my girls...

I'm super excited for it tho :)

@okqueenbee- haha "a good boob day" :) I have some like that too! I swear my boobs change weekly.

@Sulli- I'm the same way. I'd should really get rid of those cutesie bras that I only wear once a year, but they're just so cute!

@Bella13: You can take my 32Ds, it will force me to get the right size! (Just kidding, they're way too old and scummy :P)

I wonder if there's some sort of bra exchange in existence, where women can swap gently used bras that were the wrong sizes for them...now THAT would be useful! There are clearly lots of unused bras out there, haha.

i just tossed about 10 bras out last week because they were all sooo gross and old, some were falling apart. i have about 12 left. maybe 4 sports bras and a couple bustiers.     for my bridal shower, i think my bms definitely got the word out to my guests because i ended up with about 30 pieces of lingerie. and some were really really awful. i have pictures of some of the awful ones but maybe i'll spare your eyes.  but gosh it was so fun! i don't think i'll have to buy any lingerie for at least a few years!

I have about 16 (not including 6 sports bras). But 6 of those are my everyday bra and the rest are "specialty bras" or ones that I need to throw out but don't have the heart to do it!!!!

Writing this post made me realize that I am to attached to my bras!

I probably have about 10 bras.  Not including sports bras.  I honestly only wear 4 of them.  Most of my bras are little frilly things that are only ment to be worn for a very small ammount of time...if ya know what I mean ;)

    My bra count is frustrating...

A few years ago I found a style I liked in VS and bought it in all sorts of colors after wearing the first one I had bought for a few days, to replace all the ratty old bras I had at that point. Well, a few more days of constantly wearing the same bra (but in different colors) made me realize that they were uncomfortable as all holy hell. But I'd never had a bra that was actually comfortable before, so I thought "meh" and kept wearing them. After a few months I couldn't take the pain anymore and went to Nordstrom to get fitted. Turns out I'm a 32C, but all my bras were 34A and that's why they were so uncomfortable.

So now I have like 15 lightly used 34A bras that I'll never wear again in my life, and they live in the very back of my underwear drawer. As for bras that actually fit me, I have 6 regular bras and one sports bra, plus one strapless and one bustier.

For all the ladies who have gently used bras that don't fit, does anyone know if you can take bras to places like Goodwill for donations?  Or maybe there are other places that accept bra donations?

EDIT: Lookie what I found!  A bra donation website!

@MissAsB --I'd never actually thought of that! I have all those bras that are still in good condition (and that cost a significant amount of money!) so of course I don't want to throw them away! But I don't know if places like Goodwill accept bras for donation, since it's underwear and all. But if they do, I may as well drop mine off there, so someone else can give them good use!

Edit -- Wow, awesome link! Thanks for finding that! =)

That's awesome MissAsB thanks for the link!

I think a few of us girls are realizing that we may have a few too many bras. I'd hate to throw out good bras, but I definitely wouldn't mind giving them away if I knew they were going to a good cause like that :)

@MissDW: A lingerie party is usually used to replace a bridal shower where the bride gets lingerie instead of house gifts!

Uh.... somewhere between 50 and 70. That's AFTER I donated a good 10 bras last summer... all of which still had tags on them. I also own probably 200-300 pairs of underwear.

I've worked for Victoria's Secret for 3 1/2 years and they have all just accumulated in that time. We get a lot of free stuff... :\ It makes me feel kind of bad that I own so many. If anyones a 34C, lol.

Haha! I actually just donated 62 bras to GoodWill last week. So sad. Most were brand new with tags and many were very expensive. Its a sickness,I tell ya! lol

It kind of matches both my shoes and bags collection...
