Going to be a first time mom in 2 months, just wondering how many burp cloths you use per day when you’re home all day with the baby? I’m buying cloth diapers to use as burp clothes and wondering how many i should buy. TIA.

I like bibs more than burp cloths. But it depends baby-to-baby! Some kids are SUPER spitty, and some NEVER spit up!
I’d plan on 2-3 per day, per person in your house.

@nickels: maybe I got lucky but my baby did not spit up, like ever. I use maybe one burp cloth a week….:I do know someone though his baby spits up half his milk and he probably goes through 20 a day…. It’s really gross

I would suggest not getting really thick prefold cloth diapers because they are too think (like the Green Mountain Diaper ones) but the Gerber prefolds are good for burp cloth purposes. I think it depends on the baby, and if you bottle feed or nurse. I used the little baby wash clothes the most because I just had to wipe dribbles, but if you have a baby who pukes a lot you would need something bigger. Also depends on how often you do laundry!

My kids are no longer babies, but they both spit up quite a bit, including after almost every feeding and in between. I had at least 2 dozen burp cloths and went through them all in two or three days. I did laundry every day, though.

I made 1 “burp cloth” that’s in my diaper bag as yet to be used. I use bibs so planning on buyin gmore bibs. I use 1-2 bibs a day…baby does spit up but only on occasion wneh he over-feeds.
