I was thinking of DIY’ing my centrepieces, and found these at costco http://www.costco.ca/150-Premium-Carnations.product.100112937.html (the white ones)
My question is though how many centrepieces do you think that will make?/How many per centrepiece?
I was thinking of something like these:

They’ll be in short-ish round vases (7ish inches high)

You would need to narrow down which one you’d go for.. all of those inspirations have different amounts of flowers, the first one having LOTS of them.
I would suggest going to a grocery stores and buying a bouquet of carnations, then assembling your centerpieces. It shouldn’t cost more that $10 and you’ll figure out how many carnations you will need for each to avoid over/under buying.

I agree with pp. I would do a mock up of one to figure it out. I would guess at least 24 in each vase. If you use floral oasis you might be able to get away with less because the flowers will stay where you put them.

Knowing your exact vase size makes all the difference in the world….and I would probably do a mock-up.
I DIY’d my flowers and got them through Flower Moxie (http://www.flowermoxie.com) I chose them over Sams and Costco because they spoke with me on the phone and built a custom order for me. I didnt’ have to calculate it myself and they were spot on.

Meags105: I would estimate 15. Go to a craft store and play around with the fake flowers. Find carnations and group them together to get the look you’re going for, then count how many you used.

I would guess around 25-30 per centerpiece. I bought 400 carnations at 25c a stem for my brother’s wedding and used around 12 per small vase. A centrepiece like the one you would want would require at least double what I used.
