We’re areplanning of having an outdoor ceremony, nothing to long. We’re expecting in the reception about 150 guests. I know people (not all) go to the ceremony. We are tryinh to keep cost as low as possible, we found a place on craigslist they rent the chairs for $1.25 each, how many chairs we will need to rent? Do we need to rent 150 or less?

150 since you dont know how many are coming to ceremony

You need to rent chairs for as many people that RSVP. Don’t risk leaving people standing.

Definetly rent for at least everyone who RSVPs. If you only get the exact number for people who are there it leaves no space for an open chair anywhere, which is difficult (people who show up latest might not be able to find seats together, etc).
I”m unclear from your post if you are renting for the reception and ceremony though…because then you’d need 300 (assuming you have an RSVP of 150).

If you’re having 150 guests, I would rent 150 chairs.

Rent enough chairs so that every single person who RSVPs “yes” can sit down during the ceremony. It’s better to have too many chairs than not enough.

I would rent at the very minimum the number that RSVP, but I’d rent extra just in case. Not everyone will want to sit side by side, especially next to people the don’t know. We had 147 RSVP, and rented 160 chairs. We had a few no shows so that helped.
