One of my employees works parttime at a catering company. She gave me all the info on my venue because she has worked with the catering company at that venue a lot. She gave me the caterers number and I called and the lady, not the owner, answered the phone and took my info and ask me to email her what kind of menu I had in mind. I emailed her and didn’t hear back from her so a month later I called and she said yes I have it infront of me and she read my email out to me.
She said she would get with the owner and get back to me with rough quote. This has been probably 8 months ago. So I called another catering company and the lady there is very friendly and helpful but from looking at their pictures, I wasn’t to crazy about their presentation.
I didn’t tell my employee until recently that the company she works for hasn’t responded to me. She was furious and went to the receptionist and ask her why they hadn’t responded to me to which the receptionist said that she will give me a call. Days went by and nothing. So then I told her I’m not going to use them because I feel like I’m begging them to take my money. She then went to the owner and informed her that I sent an email months ago and called to verify that it was received and the receptionist has not responded to me.
I guess the owner got on to the receptionist because bright and early the next morning she called me. My venue is fairly new to weddings and almost every event that has been held there, that catering company has been the one to do it. I have seen tons of pictures of their work and its very impressive. They decorate break down whatever you need them to do.
My employee always comes in pissed after working there because she says she makes them redo stuff if it isn’t right like if the tablecloth is a tab bit longer on one side they have to redo it. The owner wants everything to be perfect.
Should I give them another chance? I really think the receptionist is the one who is making this a unpleasant situation. Shoudl I email the owner and see how things go with her or should I take my money somewhere else?
