I'm curious to see how well travelled the Bees are! I've been blessed to have the opportunity to take a couple of different international trips and I can't wait for another one. I LOVE travelling and seeing new places, especially those whose culture is so different from my own.
I've currently been to 14 countries (including the US where I live):
1. United States
2. Mexico
3. Canada
4. Grand Caymen / Caymen Islands
5. Costa Rica
6. England
7. France
8. Singapore
9. Malaysia
10. Thailand
11. Vietnam
12. Cambodia
13. Hong Kong
14. Australia
I'd love to take a trip all over Africa someday as well as a trip all throughout Europe. I also dream of someday taking a cruise to Antartica!
Where all have you other Bees travelled? And where are your dream destinations?
ETA: Please only count countries you've actually visited / travelled through / passed customs. Connections in airports don't count. :)
I have been to almost every major airport in the world and never even got to customs. I had an ex that was sold and maintained airtraffic controling systems, so it was always straight from the plane to the air traffic tower. Sucked!
I have only visited: Mexico, Canada, and Isreal.
Hmmm...
But man oh man...do I want to go everywhere. I'm drawn to South America and would really like to go there.
Ooo I like this game.
I have been to 12.
United States, Canada, Mexico, Grand Cayman, The Bahamas, St. Lucia, Aruba, England, Greece, Italy, Spain, and France.
I love traveling too and now that I live in Asia I hope to do a lot more of it! So far I've traveled around the US, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Czech Republic, Japan, and China. I've lived in Honolulu, St. Louis, Philadelphia, New York, Copenhagen, and currently Beijing. On the top of my travel wishlist is Greece, Italy, Barcelona, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The later two are probably the most likely in the near future :)
Er, 17 I think?
(1) Canada
(2) United States
(3) Mexico
(4) Cuba
(5) Dominican Republic
(6) Aruba
(7) England
(8) France
(9) Switzerland
(10) Italy
(11) Portugal
(12) Thailand
(13) Malaysia
(14) Singapore
(15) Indonesia
(16) India
(17) Cambodia
Travel is my favourite thing in the whole world. I am obsessed with travel research (seriously, I know about the hotels/resorts in most countries, even if I've never been there. I'm a travel nerd) and am always planning our next trip.
My list of places to travel never gets shorter though...when I finally visit a new country I usually want to return, so I never seem to be able to cross destinations off my list.
I honestly can't choose a favourite, as each country is so different and I visit different places for different reasons. I just love experiencing new cultures and landscapes.
In my dream life I would spend my time travelling around the world and experiencing as many different places and cultures as possible.
Only to Tijuana, Mexico and that doesnt really count since I live about 20-30 minutes from the border :(
@hergreenapples: Can you be my new best friend so that we could travel together? If I ever gor really rich, I'd quit working and travel the world. And like you, my travel list always seems to get longer!
I HATE when people ask what country / trip I liked best. I got this so much, especailly with SE Asia since I visited 7 countries in one summer. They are all so different from each other and I loved them all for different reasons. I really can't pick a favorite!
I'm a youngin! I haven't done much travelling yet, but I've been to:
France (16th birthday present)
England (Reading break 2007; I got the money unexpectedly 2 days before break & just booked and went ... so liberating! And probably the only time I'll be able to do that ever again seeing as I now travel as a pair ;))
Canada (yes I count my own country; I've lived and vacationed all over it!)
the US (NY state only).
I'd LOVE to go all around South America, Mexico (eventually!), more of the US, NZ & Australia, and do something like a 6 to 12 month backpacking trip all around Europe (and go EVERYWHERE, including the Scandinavian countries)
I also want to live overseas for a year but don't have a specific destination in mind. Maybe someday!
I have been to:
1. US
2. Germany
3. Mexico
4. Italy
5. France
6. Luxembourg
7. Czech Rep.
8. Swizterland
9. Austria
10. Belgium
11. Holland/Netherlands
Mostly countries in Europe cause I grew up there. There are so many more I'd love to visit!
@Mrs.KMM: Yes, please! we can be travel partners....just waiting for my big lottery win in order to bankroll my new lifestyle!
Yes, I did SE Asia and India on one six month long trip and it drove me CRAZY when people would ask which I preferred. I mean, that works when comparing, say, beach resorts, but not for entire countries with distinct cultures!
13, I think...US, Canada, South Africa, Zambia, Mozambique, Spain, France, Italy, Ireland, Denmark, England, Sweden, Denmark (thanks, Junior year abroad and honeymoon!)
I haven't actually counted, so let's see!
Uhhh I think that's it. Man I'm spoiled.
Just my home country so far, but I'll be adding Ireland to the list next year. :) Someday I'll have money for travel...someday...
Fun! My list is below. I really want to go to India or Nepal.
1. Mexico
2. Costa Rica
3. Peru
4. Portugal
5. Spain
6. England
7. Morocco
8. France
9. Germany

17. Spain
18. Tanzania
19. Turkey
20. United Kingdom (lived)
21. United States (live)
Inclusion of other places: Cayman Islands (British territory); Puerto Rico (US Commonwealth).
If you have the money, travel! You will learn so much about yourself and your smallness is this world.
I guess I have been to around 10:
Ireland
England
France
Spain
Czech Republic
Mexico
US
Canada
Dominican Republic
Turks& Caicos/Tortola (Both territories of the UK so I dunno if you count them)
Wow, when I did this in my head, I thought I had visited alot more countries. I absolutely LOVE traveling. That is my hobby. I am just like @hergreenapples. I am obsessed with traveling and am constantly planning out my next trip or where I would like to go. So far I have been to:
1. US
2. Mexico
3. Canada
4. Costa Rica
5. St. Lucia
6. Italy
7. Switzerland
8. England
9. France
I hope to go to Greece or Spain next year! Can't wait!
I've been to twenty, though I don't know that all of them count because most of the Caribbean islands and Venezuela were just stops on a cruise I went on with my family when I was less than ten years old. I'm not even sure that I've correctly remember all the islands. I count Martinique and Guadeloupe separately, even though they're technically part of France.
If we're just talking about countries I remember and spent one or more nights in (with the exception of the Vatican, which most people can't sleep in), though, I've been to thirteen:
US, England (lived there)/Scotland/Wales, Canada, Mexico, Romania, and Greece. We're going to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We want to add Lebanon and India to that list... for starters.
After the honeymoon, it will be 15 countries: USA, Canada, Mexico, Bahamas, England, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Vatican City (technically separate from Italy, like how Washington DC is technically not a "state"), Greece (honeymoon).
i've been to 9 countries so far: US, Canada, Mexico, Switzerland, France, UK, Italy, Germany and Portugal.
I'm at 10!
1. Canada
2. Mexico
3. England
4. France
5. Germany
6. Italy
7. Greece / 2 Greek Islands
8. Spain
9. Netherlands
10. USA
And in a month I will add Switzerland to my list!
Husband on the other hand has been to 17!! He has been (with me) to the 10 above and also: Columbia, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Mongolia, and Australia!
I've never actually counted:
Philippines, USA, Mexico, England, France, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Ireland, and Turkey, in that order. 13 countries so far, 14 including Vatican City. My family immigrated to the States when I was a toddler (raised in Southern California), lived in South Korea for a year, and have now been living in Sweden for almost 2 years.
As for dream vacations ... I'm not sure anymore. I'm all traveled out - I just wanna focus on making babies now
For as much as I love to travel I haven't been to that many places yet. Since I've always lived in the U.S. I left it off my count, but I have to say I'm really starting to love visiting all of the unique cities here.
I spent 3 weeks in Chile (amazing & incredibly diverse)
I spent a month traveling through England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales (more historical fun that I could handle!!!) I happen to be a huge British history junkie and couldn't stop spouting facts at every turn and corner.
I would really like to go to mainland Europe for the honeymoon, FI and I have some deep unexplained interest in Prague.
My ultimate dream trip is to South Africa, I can't even begin to wrap my mind around all the history and nature that I could see.
Chronologically
1. U.S. (live)
Mexico (too young to remember)
2.Costa Rica
3. Roatan, Honduras
4. Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
5. Japan
6. U.K. - England and Scotland
7. France
8. Sweden
9. Germany
10. Switzerland
11. Italy (We did ski over the Alps and stay the night so I guess it counts.)
Belgium (We drove in and flew out but didn't really get to see much of the country.)
France again, briefly
12. Mexico
13. Chile
14. Argentina
Hmmm. I voted 6-10 but I forgot a couple. I should have voted 11-15.
Africa and Asia (except Japan) are completely absent. I'd like to go but have no idea when. Oh, and Canada too. That one will definitely happen sometime.
I've never really counted either - but here goes:
1) US - live there
2) Canada - lived 45 minutes from border - been to Montreal a dozen times
3) Cozumel, Mexico
4) Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
5) Ochos Rios, Jamaica - (these three on a cruise)
6) France - studied abroad there so traveled throughout the country and to the following:
7) England
8) Spain
9) Italy
10) Belgium
11) Holland (Amsterdam)
12) Switzerland
13) New Zealand - have been able to travel there on 2 different occasions totaling 6 weeks - I LOVE NZ!
And that's it! Looks like the Bees are very well traveled! I am excited to add one more country to this list for our honeymoon - which is yet to be determined!

My list so far includes:
1) United States
2) Canada
3) Panama
4) Venezuela (twice)
5) Mexico
My travel wish list is very long, but my top dream destinations are: Spain, Ireland, and Guatemala. There are also lots of places I haven't seen in the US yet that I'd love to see (specifically Vermont and the Grand Canyon)
@cafegirl: Go to Vermony in October and rent a beautiful house in the White Mountains! It's spectacular, and usually cheaper/more convenient to the hiking!
Man you bees travel like crazy! I've only been outside the US once, briefly to Mexico. I really want to travel more, it just hasn't been financially possible for us yet.
It's amazing how traveled the hive is! People think I've traveled a lot and I've only been to Jamaica and Spain (well, the U.S. too, but I spend all my time there
).
I'd love to go to so many more places. Top of the list is Greece and England.
1) United States (Lived)
