I think we calculated 1 per person (if i remember right). Some will eat multiple and some will not eat any. Assuming you have the “Typical” 20% attendance then you need at LEAST 144 of them (one per person). So no I don’t know how you would get away with only doing 6 dozen, this would equal 12 dozen.

We’re just having cupcakes, and we plan on ordering 1.25 per person.  Since you’re having other goodies, I agree with the PP that you’d be good with 1 per person.  I don’t think 72 would be enough, even if you only had 144 guests RSVP yes.

Though, all of this talk is coming from someone with a big sweet tooth.  So, take what I say with a grain of salt.  🙂

I would plan on doing 1.2 or 1.3 per person.  I’d base it on the number you have RSVP though.  So based on 144 people that would be 172 cupcakes.  That would be if you are doing cupcakes instead of cake.  3 dozen of each is only 72 cupcakes…I just don’t think that is enough.  I would rather have leftovers than have people that didn’t get some dessert.  Are you doing those mini frozen eclairs and cream puffs or full size ones?  FWIW I think more people would eat cupcakes.  I think you should have at least one for every person, but I’d recommend maybe a little more than that.

@lilyprincess11:  No way, you need at least one per person. How many mini eclairs and cream puffs are you having? Because if you don’t intend to provide all of your guests with a cupcake then one mini pastry doesn’t seem like much of a dessert.
