How many dress shops did you go to? I have appointments made for 6 stores during a 4 day “extended weekend” when my parents will be in town. I love 3 designers and want to try their stuff on, and of course 3 of the stores only carry one of the designers each. A fourth store is an upscale resale shop, the fifth is BHLDN (anthropologie’s sister store–my little sis DEMANDED i go there since she loves it), and I believe the sixth is because it’s close, but it may carry similar designers to the others, plus a few other good ones.
Is this too much? Am I going to just get confused? Or does this sound about right?

I think that’s way too many. I went to one. The most I would have gone to was two, but I had no particular designed I wanted. Dress shopping at one store takes a long time and can be a stressful, tiring process. I think I would have pulled my hair out if I went to more than two in a weekend, and I love shopping!

MrsN14: Thanks for the input!
If it helps for anyone, this is the only weekend I have to dress shop. My parents are covering the dress, and only coming into town once. I need to find my dress during that 4 day period.

Go to those stores and if you don’t find anything then ask your parents if they could cut you a check once you do find the one. DONT pressure yourself to settle for one just because they are only there that weekend. They can also call the store with a credit card later when you find the one. OR Maybe you could make a payment and they could send you a check instead. In any event to answer your original question, stick to your instinct over what anyone else says, which is to check out those 3 designers regardless of how many stores they are spread out in. I found my dress at the second store, but geeezz some people end up shopping like 8-10 stores if they have to. Also, be open to the fact that the style you like in a picture may not look good on you or feel right when it’s on. Do not be afraid to hate your dream dress. Keep an open mind. These things will help you find your perfect dress quicker.

I probably went to five total, but that was over probably 2 months, going shopping every few weekends (I did a few shops more than once).
Dress shopping is exhausting, and I personally found looking at pics of me in the dresses on people’s phones after we left the store to be really helpful. Three in one day is the max I’d consider doing.
Can you make sure you do breaks in between, like going out to a nice relaxing lunch? If you can, I’d drop the stores you’re less convinced about (or maybe schedule them for the last day, knowing you’re ok with cancelling those appointments).

Emm85: I visited exactly 2, first one was david’s bridal. They had nothing I liked online in stock so ended up trying out random dresses. Second store was a local bridal shop.
To each his own as far as number of shops but be aware that you might have to go to some solo if you are shiping during weekends or weekdays to allow others to hvae a live that doesn’t revolve around your dress shopping

I’ve been to about 20 I would say.. anywhere from 5-8 packed into a 2-3 day trip each time. I do have a smaller budget though and I didn’t know what I was looking for until maybe store 8 or so when they tried me in a completely different type of dress and I liked the style more. Some of these were consigment stores, some were full boutiques, then 2 different David’s Bridals.

I went to 4 stores. I really wanted to see what was out there and was not pleased until I went to the last store, where I finally found my dress! I’m pretty indecisive, so even when I found my dream dress, I tried on others just to be sure.

I went to 8 in about a 2-3 month period. I am a big fan is seeing what’s out there and researching so you feel amazing about your purchase. I ended up with one of the dresses from the second store but trying on different styles and designers helped cement the decision. Totally depends on your personality!

I went to one and tried on probably 30 dresses. That was all I needed and the found the one. I’d get so confused if I went to more and overwhelmed!

I went to 0. But I don’t think that 6 is too many if you haven’t found the dress you love yet. Just for reference, I purchased a new sample online and it was perfect for me!

I found my dress at one store the first trip and the second dress I tried on. I tried on one after and said nope the other one was it

I went to at least 6 (but I can’t remember). I think you’re squeezing a lot in for one weekend. I personally can handle 2 appointments as the bride. It’s very tiring…getting dressed & undressed.
I found my dress by the 3rd or 4th appointment, but I loved dress shopping so much, I continued, haha.
