Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I am newly engaged and tried on dresses for the very first time today. I have already found one that I think I love, but I felt it was “wrong” to purchase when I haven’t even looked in a second store.
So just out of curiosity – approximately how many dresses do you think you tried on before finding the one and how many dress shops did you look in?

I found my dress the first day at the first shop. It was the 5th or 6th dress I tried on and fell in love.
I went to try it on again with my BMs and fell in love all over again so I bought it.

I’m probably a minority… I went to pretty much every store in the city I live and then a few more in another city. I tried on wayyyyy too many dresses.

Just two. I had already picked out a dress I loved before I even tried anything on. I tried a bunch of gowns on just to be sure, but the initial pick ended up being the ‘the one’ so it didn’t take me too long.

I found my dress in the second store and I didn’t try on many dresses in the first store.

Five… six, something like that. I eventually gave up and ordered online.

I went to 4 dress shops, 5 if you count when I went back and tried on different dresses (one of which turned out to be my dress).

I went to one store and tried on seven dresses. I ended up purchasing the second dress.
It felt strange because I went in telling myself I wasn’t going to buy and wanted to shop around; ultimately I was so happy with dress #2 that I went with it though, and I don’t regret it!

I went to a total of 3 dress shops, but went to one of them twice before deciding on my dress! 🙂

I found a dress I loved at the first store I went to, and it was the 2nd dress I tried on. I went to 4 stores after that in the next 2 weeks before I went back and bought it. I wanted to be sure. 🙂 I tried on probably like 20 dresses total.

I found my dress at the first shop I went to (DB), but we went to a second shop just to make sure that first dress was *the* dress 🙂

I went to three dress shops but I didn’t have the intention of buying, just seeing which styles looked good on me. As it turned out. I fell in love with the style of the very first gown I tried on at the first dress shop, and my dress will be based off that. I would’ve purchased the original gown but I was told that it couldn’t be dyed and it only came in white or ivory.

I went to 4 shops.
Shop 1 in my hometown: I had a vague idea of what I wanted but she had me try on a few different styles to gauge what looked best on me/what I felt best in.
Shops 2 and 3 were near to each other so I visited those in the same day and tried on maybe 6 dresses. One I liked but wasn’t ready to commit.
Before going to shop 4 I looked through magazines and found 2 that I loved, called ahead and asked if they had them for me to try on. They only had 1 of the 2 and as soon as I tried it on I knew it was the one.

First one was David’s Bridal – I’m glad I did that one first.
Then a small boutique in a small town where I’m from. LOVED IT. The dresses were so beautiful – all lacey and romantic like I was looking for and the prices were great.
Davids was a great place to start because I was able to see what I did or didn’t like as far as styles.
