How many dresses did you try on until you found the one?

Manda613:  I tried on maybe 15-20. I had appointments at 2 stores on the one day and was keen to get it done as otherwise I tend to overthink and over research and get confused. Even after just the one day of shopping towards the end I was geting over it. If I was a different personality type though then I think more than one day of shopping can be beneficial so you can be really sure of your purchase. I bought the last dress I tried on at the second appointment and had to decided within 30 minutes to buy it as it was trunk show and would be gone otherwise. I love, love my dress but I do have confidence issues about my body in it so I sometimes wonder whether I should have chosen a safer dress that wouldn’t have caused me that bit of anxiety.

my dress was the second of 3 that I tried on. And the only reason I tries the third on was so my mom could see me in a full princess ballgown. Didn’t look good at all.

I tried on about 20 or so over 2 appointments/salons. I had a third appointment scheduled at another salon for a few weeks later, but I found a dress I loved at the second salon and it was from a trunk show so I had to get it then and there, mostly for the 15% off (it would have been over budget otherwise). I’m glad I got it too because when I came home I realized the collection the dress is from isn’t even online yet, so who knows when I would actually be able to get it!

I don’t think I will have dress regret. I tried on an assortment of dresses and know what looks good and what doesn’t. I feel like the dress I got was the style that looked the best on me and had everything I wanted!

I only tried on around 10 (to be honest, could have been anywhere from 7-15). No regrets! And I had to make a quick decision because it was a sample sale. Left the store, ate sushi, came back and bought it!

The shop helped because they brought at most two dresses at a time, I would try them, and then they would ask me to eliminate one so I never had more than three dresses in the dressing room at once.

Happy dress shopping!

Manda613:  I tried on roughly 10 (they varied a fair bit but I had a strong idea of what I did and didn’t want)

I’m a very girly girl and have always dreamed about my wedding and all the preparation and to be honest, I started to find the dress process overwhelming! I still could have tried a tonne more but I just didn’t want to. I ended up with a dress exactly like what i’d always imagined and I couldn’t be happier!

What i’ve come to realise is that you don’t actually have to try on 1000 dresses in an effort to find the most incredible dress that ever existed.. as long as you have one that YOU love and feel amazing in, go for it! It could be the first one it could be the last, but who cares!? as long as you love it!

I also didn’t have an instant overwheling ‘omg this is it’ moment with my dress. I loved it straight away of course, but I then went and tried on others and it made me realised how much I really did love the other one, so I went back and tried it again and thought yes, it’s perfect for me!

Enjoy the process, don’t get too overwhelmed and if you find one you feel a million dollars in, get it! Don’t second guess yourself 😉

I tried on 10-15 (I paid no attention to how many that day) but ended up buying the very first one I tried on!  I didn’t have an IT moment… I had two strong favorites and had to flip through pictures obsessively after the appointments to figure out which one I really really liked better for me.  I’ve seen other brides with the pronovias I didn’t get, but I’ve never really gotten dress regret when I see it now!

Manda613:  I tried on two at DB and two at another boutique, but not seriously looking. Then when I was seriously looking it ended up being the second one I tried on at the other boutique and I tried on a bunch of others after that at the same store. I don’t have any regret but I am not allowing myself to even glance at any other dresses haha.

Manda613:  what felt like a million, it was probably closer to 50ish. Surprisingly, it didn’t get confusing a day or two after I tried on dresses, I would forget 99% of them, which is how I knew that I had yet to find the one! Even though I tried on quite a few, I did have dress regret in between ordering the dress and it actually coming in. But then once it came in and I tried it on again (and I tried it in my size, compared to being clipped into the tattered, oversized sample), I loved it again!

I think it was 20-25? I was ready to be done at that point and am sooo glad I found the one! It’s so overwhelming!

I tried on about 7 or 8, but ended up going with the first one after I saw it without the straps that came on it. I was starting to get overwhelmed because I kept falling in love with each dress I put on. I think anymore would have completley overwhelmed me and i’m glad I stopped looking. No dress regret yet! I still smile everytime I see a picture of myself in it!

I tried on about 20, at 5 different places. The first 4 places were with loved ones, and I got a good idea of what I liked and didn’t like on myself. The last one was just me, and I didn’t really like shopping for a wedding dress by myself, and I was starting to worry about time because my wedding countdown was getting to the 8-month mark, and since I was being picky anyways, I really didn’t want to limit myself to samples and pre-owned, so I said screw it, I’m going custom! 😛 It worked for me because I knew everything I wanted: dropped-waist a-line silhouette, ruched bodice, corset back, interesting skirt, off-the-shoulder straps, and bling on a sweetheart neckline. It’s possible I could have found a dress with the first 4 and added the last two, but I’m happy with my decision, especially now that I’ve started exercising and it looks like I may lose 2 dress sizes.

Around 10 to 15 I think.  Had an appointment at one store and then went to another that doesn’t need them.  It was the last one and myself and my mom loved it.  I slept on it to make sure and ordered the next day.

1 day, 2 stores, and I think 10 dresses.
