@Katyxa:  I tried on about 11. But ‘the one’ I had seen a year before online, it was a case of getting to the shop.

Well, at my first ever appointment (and last appointment!) I tried on 7 dresses. The 2nd dress I tried on was “the one” and I bought it that day!

@Katyxa:  Mine was the second dress I tried on. I tried many more after that but I knew all along I was going to go back and buy #2.

Took me over a year and well over 50 dresses to find mine. I almost walked down the aisle in a paper bag lmao!

I think it was 6? I didn’t try on too many before finding it.

Probably about 15, at 3 different stores. I was beginning to feel discouraged after the first 2 stores, because nothing was really feeling special to me. They all looked nice, but nothing was wow. Then I decided to try on dresses that were different than what I originally thought I wanted and BAM, found my dress.

I tried on 5 or 6 dresses at two different stores. At the first store, David’s Bridal, I had dresses picked out in advance and gave the information to the sales consultant. At the second store, JCPenney, I just walked around and tried on dresses that looked nice. I found my dress at JCPenney. 🙂

I think I tried 10-12 dresses before I found mine.  I still tried on a few after that, but I just knew it was the one for me.  This was between two separate stores and shopping trips.

    I think I tried on between 15-20.

I started by making an appointment at David’s Bridal to sort of “get my feet wet” since I was nervous about trying on dresses. I wasn’t expecting to find my dream dress there so it was a good, no pressure experience. I tried on a bunch there and got a feel for what styles, ecklines, etc looked good on me. Plus they put me in a strapless bra/corset type thing to try on gowns and it was awesome so I bought it and wore it to my later appointments.

A few days later I’d made appointments at two local boutiques and brought my mom, sister and SIL. The first appointment took 2 hours and I felt like I tried on a ton of dresses. I had a mini meltdown and cried because even though all the dresses they brought me were super flattering and pretty they just weren’t “me” and I felt like the consultant didn’t get my style. I brought some photos of dresses I liked for various reasons but I felt like it actually drove her in the wrong direction. There was one dress there that was really beautiful and looked great on me and I hemmed and hawed over whether I should get it. Everyone liked it. It just wasn’t what I envisioned myself in and it was different from the style of my wedding. My wedding is kind of crisp, clean, New England Preppy and this dress was more soft and romantic and lacy and vintage. I felt torn but I didn’t feel sure. That’s when my meltdown started. I decided to just keep it in mind and go to the second place.

Then we went to the 2nd appt and they totally got me. The first dress I tried on was THE ONE and I knew it without a doubt. It is so beautiful and exactly my style and what I pictured myself in. I seriously just love every single thing about it. That appointment was super fast because we all knew right away. As soon as I walked out of the changing room in it I was 100% sure that I didn’t need to try on any more. 🙂

PS – this all just took place over the last week – I found my dress on Monday and I’m in love with it! <3
