MrsSparkle:  They say 20% decline on average…  if yours are mostly in towners, maybe 15%?

MrsSparkle:  I think 80% to 85% will come. Looks like you’re going to have one heck of a partay!

I’d say 225 would be attending

oops sorry I thought it said 250 people. But ya for our wedding we invited 165 and had 152 guests  Don’t always trust the 20% decline rate.

MrsSparkle:  250 invites is a big wedding! We invited 215 people. Of the in-town crowd, 98% are coming. From the OOT group, 55% are coming.

Besides the out-of-town guests declining, I have also heard that the bigger the wedding, the higher rate of decline.

Invited 250 to my daughter’s wedding last year, on a holiday weekend. Banquet co-ordinator said expect a 20% national average decline rate – up to 30%, for a holiday weekend. We had 225 attend. Had 3 more tables than we would have liked and the dance floor was a bit cramped, but we got through it. For 2nd daughter’s wedding we’re inviting 125, with a capacity of 115, so we’ll see what happens. We just found out about 2 requests for a plus-one, we weren’t expecting. Argh…
