After coming home from my destination wedding I am having a reception + dance to celebrate with those who weren’t able to fly out for our wedding. It will be a cocktail-only reception (appetizers + beverages) followed by a wedding cake.
The hors-d’oeuvres will be classic two-bite appetizers. How many should I order per person?
The event is from 7-10 PM.

@nk3006: What time is the event. If it is over a meal time you will need significantly more per person then if it is at 9:00pm.

@nk3006: I have been told to have about 8-10 pieces per person. We are having a Rehearsal dinner (really its a welcome party) for my Destination Wedding and we are only having appetizers. It’s going to be 5 appetizers with two pieces per person, so 10 pieces.

@nk3006: It definitely depends on what time the reception will be, as well as how long it will last.

We ordered 3 pieces pp which was much less than our venue suggested but cocktail hour was so short and dinner immediately followed so i didnt see the point in having tons of apps. However if that is the only food you are serving I would agree with 8-10 peices per person at least.

I would probably alot for between 6-10 per person per hour. On the higher end if there is more variety and if there will be drinking.

I think you will need to offer 8-10 pieces per person:)

@nk3006: I’d say about 8 per person for that timeframe.

@nk3006: I’d think maybe 4-5 of each appetizer since it’s the only source of food.
