I spend a lot of time on it right now. However, I just got engaged and I’m knee deep in research on venues and vendors. My understanding (from A Practical Wedding) is that you are usually super busy planning right after you get engaged, then again as you get close to your wedding month. I’d imagine, your friend will slow down considerably once she has her venue and vendors in place for the most part.

The last couple of weeks for me were guilty weeks – I spent maybe 30 hours between the 2 weeks as I was dealing with vendors and deposits. This week is certainly toned back and I am capping myself at 10 hours to keep myself in check. There is no need wasting so much time when there are other things i can be doing. Last week I did end up studying for a test a little less than I would’ve liked because I got distracted by the bee and from that day forward I won’t let wedding planning distract my studies – if I mess up school I won’t be having a wedding!

My tip for other bees would be to write yourself a wedding planning schedulel and do your best to stick to it! The bee is all hours for me as I don’t just talk wedding on here but in terms of actual planning I have set aside 3 evenings per week!
