I have to get at least 7 hours of sleep a night or I will be feeling it the next day. I wish I could get less sleep though...I imagine all the things I could get done...
I usually go to bed between 10pm and 11pm and wake up at 7am so I get between 8-9 hours of sleep (so I voted 8.5 average). That usually doesn't feel like enough though!
Weekdays, I usually get between 7-8. It's very rare I get more (or less!) than that.
During the work week I usually get about 6-6 1/2. Ive never been a good sleeper so if Im stressed out even a little bit I will wake up all night long.
This morning I was up early before work shoveling for an hour so I'm exhausted!
I try to get about 7-8, sometimes it's only 6 though and on those days I seem to do better. I don't get it.
It depends for me I have insomnia so sometimes I don't sleep at all but then again if I am lucky I can get almost 7!
@LRin2011: It's possible that you have a 3 hour sleep cycle and so when you get 7 or 8 hours (especially if an alarm wakes you up) you're waking in the middle of a sleep cycle, which can really throw you off.
Whenever I'm left to my own devices (i.e. no alarm), I naturally wake up 9.5 hours after I go to bed. Like on the DOT. So, I figure that's what my body needs, and I try to plan accordingly.
Wow, everyone who gets 6 hours a night has my complete and total sympathy :-/
I get around 8 hours. Sometimes slightly more, sometimes slightly less.
Seriously! 6 hours on average? No way! My body can manage on 7 1/2 but loves 9 1/2. Sometimes 10 if it's on a weekend. 6 and I'd be a zombie!
I'm a full time law student, but during my school week (I have class Mon-Thurs, so I'm talking Sunday night through Wednesday night), I typically sleep about 5-6 hours. I have 7:30am class that I have to leave by 6:15am for, and I just can't go to bed earlier than like 11... and then I get up around 4:30-5 (I have a tendency to do some of my homework in the morning before class). Thursday night I get a little more sleep (I sleep in until maybe 8 lol) and on weekends I usually get about 8 hours. I really could use more sleep =/
Around 6 for me. My body refuses to consider sleep before 1am unless I'm sick or have been out in the sun. When I sleep late on the weekends, I wake up with irritated sinuses.
I used to have pretty bad insomnia, so 6 doesn't seem that bad to me. I can function perfectly fine on 5 too. Anything less than that and I'm a wreck.
I usually try to go to bed early to get more sleep but it hasn't happened yet haha. I average 7-8 hours per night.
i seriously think i have a sleep addiction or disorder. I work late every day- either 11am, 1pm, or 7pm (one night a week). So i dont HAVE to get up early. I usually go to bed around 12 or 1 and get up around 10 (so embarassing!) so i usually get around 9, sometimes more :/ i try and get up earlier and i just CANT! i usually snooze for like 2 hrs until i HAVE to get up. its pathetic- i feel like i sleep my life away!
I get about 9 hours but wish it was more like 10-11. I need a LOT of sleep apparently.
I typically don't have to go to work until around 11 which means I have to get up at 9. Generally I go to bed around 11 so that leaves me 9-10 hours of sleep. I always wake up feeling sleepy. I must need an inordinant amount of sleep.

I can't believe how well my "what time do you go to bed" post went over!
But it did spark a new curiosity for me: how many hours of sleep do you get, on average, during the work week? (not weekends, because I know there can be a huge discrepency there! and if you work a non traditional work week, I mean YOUR work week, not M-F!)
