7.5 hours apart.
I am from Springfield, MO, and he lives in a tiny town 2 hours outside of Chicago.
5 1/2 flight over an ocean. hawaii to cali. hes getting stationed in NC right after we get married for school. so like a 11 hour flight?
not to mention the cost of flights! $800 round trip!

6300 miles via plane. Driving is no an option, thank you ocean. It's a 13 ish hour flight from Sao Paulo to Los Angeles.
every three weeks or so, we meet up for a long weekend. usually we take turns driving out to each other (i can only go to him when i have someone to look after my son though, as he can't really take that long in a car yet). it's about 7 hours from where i am in MI to where he is in MN. i flew once. that only took about an hour in the air. about 2 total when you figure in security, boarding, deplaning, etc...
Two hours. I make the drive most of the time because he's a youth pastor and has a hard time getting away on the weekends. It's hard with soaring gas prices.
Well, when he was deployed, we were 7000 miles apart with zero chance to see eachother. When he was stateside again, we were 1100 miles apart and about a 4 plane ride with one layover.
WOW!!!!! After reading about how far you all live and love, I feel like a brat whining about my LDR - He is in Indianapolis and I am in Chicago - about a 2.5 hour drive. We see each other about three weekends a month...
About 11 hours for us, or 14 if you include the time change too. (42 hours' driving time, if you trust Google maps, but I haven't tried it yet.)
1.5 hr drive to the airport
3 hrs (security/boarder crossing) in airport
5 hr flight (if no stopovers)
1.5 hr drive home
I usually leave here about noon, get a late afternoon flight, and he picks me up at the airport about midnight his time/3 am my time, if all goes smoothly.
Southern Ontario to Northern California. We try to see each other every 2 or 3 months.
4 hour flight (just over 2000 miles). Sigh. It looks so far when I see it written out.
