We are expecting about 230 guests, I am having 1 bridal shower (unsure of how many guests). We are registered only at Target and currently have about 170 items on the registry. They give a great price breakdown but I am struggling to add the amount of pricey items they recommend!
Here is what I have so far:
- less than $10 – 71 out of 98 recommended
- $11 to $30 – 67 out of 65 recommended
- $31 to $50 – 9 out of 98 recommended
- over $51 – 23 out of 65 recommended
my big area that is really lacking is obviously the 31-50 catagory, what are some items that fall into this catagory that you bees registerd for?? i dont want to seem too greedy by having a huge registry but i dont want my guests to feel like they have nothing to choose from in their price range either!

I am having about the same amount of people at my wedding, and am having at least 2 showers. My advice would be to register at another place.

I am registered at three places(Target, Crate and Barrel and Macys) and have about the same number of guests as you are.
At Target I only have 90 items/ Crate and Barrel I have 199(107 if you don’t count the ones that are duplicates) and 80 items at Macys.
And I would definetly recommend adding more 30-50 dollar items.

i think the rule is one gift per couple/family on list…. we are doing two registries

I have tried registering at other places but living in a rural area gives pretty limited choices. The only other store to register at has been extremely difficult for me! I have been slowly adding items and its getting hard! I feel like we are registered for everything we need. The only things I want to register for now are for our cats and dogs. We have two cats that currently live with us and two dogs that will be living with us as soon as our house is done being renovated and we want some new stuff for them. Is that completely inappropriate for a wedding registry?

I would recommend using an online “Universal Registry” site like MyRegistry (which I have used) because it allows you to pretty much add items no matter what store they are found at. And you don’t have to register with each store individually. I’ve been pleased with my setup. We’ve got a Target registry and a Bed Bath and Beyond Registry, but I’ve got this going. You can put pretty much anything and everything on here. It’s quite flexible.

I found that price range tough too so we added more small items. My family likes doing gift baskets with themes. Oh now that I think of it most bathtowels I liked where in that price range.

You’re doing well! We have three registries, Target, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Macy’s. The majority of our items are at BBB. We have 152 items there, 54 at Target, and 40 at Macy’s. So far, things have been purchased off of each registry.
I think you’ve offered a lot of choices at different price ranges, which is important. I feel like that $31 – $50 range is a difficult one to fill, too. It really depends on your guests, number of showers, etc. When my Fiance and I started registering, we were almost afraid to start scanning things! That passed fairly quickly :-). Here are some of the things we’ve registered at the $31 – $50 price range:
- Our place settings
- Ice bucket
- Shower curtain
- Carry-on luggage
- Add-ons to our flatware set
