3; English is my first language, I took Spanish in high school (okay with it), and I took Japanese in college (used to be conversationally fluent, now not so sure since I never use it)… I know minimal Chinese but I wouldn’t be able to get by if I were alone in China so I didn’t include that!

I said two, because English is my first language and I’ve been speaking French since I was 5 – we now keep a bilingual household. I also did three years of Spanish in university and still can read well, and could probably get by pretty well if necessary, but I never use it so who knows. I also know basic-intermediate Swahili and Kinyarwanda.

English and French. My degree started in French Education but I switched. I couldn’t believe when we were in Paris how I could still easily communicate!

    I am monolingual.  Smile

I do know a tiny bit of French.  If lost in Paris I would be able to tell you my name and ask where the library is.

I can figure out Pig Latin if I concentrate

And Pirate Speak is also doable

I can speak, read, and write in both English and Spanish. I tried learning French, but would always come up with this awful mix of French and Spanish words in my sentences, haha.

I know a lot of latin, just reading, not speaking.

    I speak English (duh)

I know a bit of Spanish to get by, but can’t understand most o f it if spoken to, haha.

    I know some ASL too.

So combined that’s sort of 2.5-3 languages 😛

I said 2 because I’m fluent in English and French. I’m taking Spanish right now and plan to go all the way to fluent but I didn’t count it since I’m in my first (Spanish 1) class. Also know a few words in Finnish from my grandparents, and a teensy bit of German and Russian which I took in high school and don’t really remember.

I speak 3 fluently/very well – Welsh, English and Greek – in order of profficency.  I also understand 70% of what is being said in Italian, but for some reason I can’t speak it.  I think in a year or so I’ll just start like I did with Greek – my brain soaks up and understanding of languages, but takes me a little longer to speak.  I studied french in school and got a “B”, but I’ve only been to france once so never got the chance to speak.  I did spanish in night school, and again I understand a lot but I just can’t get my mouth to work :-S
