I am trying to figure out how many mm's is a good size for my FI for his wedding band. Can you please help me out and tell me what yours is, so I can get an idea of what the average width is?

    Thank you.

I think it will depend on the size of your FI's hand & fingers.  My FI has rather large hands, and we just ordered his, it is 8mm.  He has tried many on & they've all been 8mm, that's what he preferred.  This is what his looks like:

My FI has smaller hands and I think his is a 5mm band.

Thank you soon2bS. Very nice ring :-)

My FI has medium hand, so I am thinking between a 5mm and a 7mm, but it is so hard to choose.

Thank you Treasure43. I was trying to figure out if the 5mm would be too small.

I am leaning toward these two, and the first one is 7mm and the other is 5mm.

hey we were just talking about this on my post :-P

my FI is an 8.5 and the ring I found at shane co is 7mm although he said he like 8mm. I think the 7mm is wide enough for his finger.

Thank you JoJo and deeb :-)

    @JoJo: Mine has a size 10 1/4 finger.

2deeb: I will have to wander over to your post to see what was said :-)

I will probably end up getting the 7mm.

My fiance wears a size 11.5 but has extremely short fingers. (Short and stubby) and oddly enough we are still getting him an 8mm band.  We thought we'd get 6 or 7mm but he fell in love with a ring that only comes in 8mm so we are getting it. I am going to order him a cheap ring to wear for the next nine months, as he said it felt really weird wearing a ring.

My fiance has rather short fingers and most bands looked too thick and awkward on his hands, so he specially ordered a 4mm platinum band.  It's looks great on him and was exactly what he wanted.  Another plus was that we save a couple of hundred dollars by ordering a smaller band. ;)

My FI is either an 8 or a 9 (forget which) and he's getting a 5mm band.

my fi has short fingers and he's a size 9.5. he opted for the 4 mm band (which we custom ordered on etsy), because the larger ones made his fingers look really short.

My partner's a size 9.25 or 9.75 (can't remember which) but he definitely got a 6 mm ring.

I'd say have your fiance go to a jeweler and try on different widths.  That's how we decided.  They didn't have a 4mm in the store, but we could tell that the 5mm was just a little too thick.

5mm seems pretty wide Brooklyn. My FI has a 3mm ring that he wears sometimes and I think that is the right size, but he wants a wider one.

We have been to the jewelers to try on different widths Foolhardy, but we both forget the width that he liked best.

I am thinking that 5mm is the widest we should go. Decisions, decisions. Why do they have to be so hard....

Idk how wide it is, but it fits my FH's size 12 finger pretty well (looks just fine, not too small not too wide).

    It's from Kay:

I definitely recommend having his try several bands on.  My FI has never worn any type of rings before and he pretty quickly decided what he found to be comfortable - 6mm band with rounded edges.  I was surprised how quickly he decided what he wanted - after about 3 bands he was 100% sure what he wanted.

    Thank you tru and Eva.

We are definately getting a comfort band. It is just the width that we are concerned with.

My husbands band is 8mm too.  I thought it was super thick but it appears to be the average on here.  He loves how thick it is.  He has a hillarious tan line from it... which he also loves.
