are wearing white gowns? i decided to go with an ivory color. it just matches my skin tone better.
i saw this one bride on 'say yes to the dress' and she's wearing a pink dress with flowers.
Mine in IVORY!! I'm filipino so it looked better for my skintone too, besides there's nothing pure about me (J/K), so no white!
Hey tahsa!
I am also wearing an ivory gown-goes much better with my skin tone too. I don't know if I could pull off a pink dress :-)
There were a lot of colored gowns on the runway for 2010! Blush colors, light blue, pale lavender, dark ivory. So pretty!
I'm wearing white! I decided on white instead of ivory mainly because one of my wedding colors is yellow and I was afraid my dress would look dingy against the BM dresses. Not sure if it actually would have mattered, but I definitely liked the white one better when I tried it on!
I'm loving all the alterna-colors! Ivory is very pretty. And what about Mrs. Lightning's silvery dress? So awesome!
Mine's ivory, but it's a really white ivory, if that makes sense.
I'm wearing white, although I do love how the ivory dresses look. Very flattering!
Ivory. It only came in ivory.
Besides, I am too dark for a stark white, so it was perfect.
I want Ivory because it makes my skin look paler (cultural thing) the Momma Ladybug does not like the "ivory" idea but I think I will have to change her mind! :o) "My" gown is champange with light gold accents but I really think its more of an ivory!
Good luck- ivory is the way to go!
LOL at Jingle.
Mine is also Ivory. But there are different shades of Ivory, and like Fiftyfootbride, mine is also a very WHITE ivory. These days, I feel like many of the whites are almost "silver" whites, which is less flattering on my skin tone :)
I'm going on Nov 7th to try on gowns, so hopefully I'll find out then! Supposedly, with my skin's undertones, white will look better than ivory. We'll see :)
I think mine is technically ivory.. but I kind of lump the ivory/white/off-whites all together in my head, if that makes sense. Like, I'm still wearing a "white" dress even though it's not snow white. If you're wearing a blue or pink gown, that's clearly not white, that's how I usually classify "not white". But I'm also really weird like that :)
I planned on white but ended up with ivory since my dress is lace and lace tends to look better in ivory.
I'm also wearing ivory. I'm have auburn hair and really fair skin, so white washes me out.
i didn't get a chance to see mrs. lightning's gown. i'm new on here. where can i see it?
and yeah, for the most part, the ivory looks like a light gold. i'm ready to go and pick it up. i can't wait to see it. i hope i can lose some more weight. it has a corset in the back and i wanna be tight and alright (as we say in the south) when my hubby sees me. lmao
Mine is "spun gold", basically champagne. I've always had it in my head I'd get a champagne colored dress, even though my mom really wanted me to get ivory. On super pale skin tones I just think slightly darker looks better.
I went with Ivory. I wanted diamond white but the company didn't make my dress in DW. :(
I wore white but I was debating for awhile, especially since I'm blond with blue eyes, and usually they suggest ivory for the blonds. But it came down to a skin tone thing, I'm outside a lot in the summer and the white went with the tan better, lots of dress shop ladies and family debate but we all agreed in the end.
I went with gold. I wasn't trying to be a rebel, but it just glowed!
I went with ivory as well. The white emphasized the ruddiness of my skin and I don't think I need any help as I tend to flush when I am hot, embarrassed, excited, drinking (well, just about anything!)
Mine is a soft ivory. The white white was just too stark.
But to me, ivory IS white.
Mine was a very creamy ivory, darker than your normal ivory,, it made me took a little tanner
Mine was ivory. I think that stark white looks bad on pale skin. Sort of makes you look like death a bit!
Ivory all the way!! I was between an ivory and champagne dress. I'm too white for a white dress.... I'm basically transparent. I had the nickname 'Casper' in middle school for a reason!!
Seems like a lot of ladies are planning to wear ivory. My dress is ivory as well and I love it!
My dress was ivory! But it was taffeta so it looked white is some lights and ivory in others. Either way, I liked it :)
Me too! I wore ivory/champagne.
I loved the way it looked vintage-y to me.
My dress color was called "Pearl" by Anne Barge. It loved how warm the color was and it was a bit more ivory than white.
mine's ivory-light gold! looks better on my skin and i just love the warm tones
mine is ivory. i looked terrible in white and diamond white.
Like the other pale skinned ladies, mine is ivory. White blends in with my skin too much!
