Just curious. I know I’m not the only one that wishes her boss would just stop coming to work everyday. She’s really kinda horrible. I will never say I hate someone, just because it makes me feel bad, but she continually tests me. I’ve never had this experience before! We used to get along so well. But then she and our other co-worker realized they both like drinking on the job and the friendship was A WRAP! She’s constantly taking 3 hour lunches, coming to work an hour later, drinking at the office, throwing me under the bus to protect herself, and doing the HS thing where you ignore someone and laugh and carry on like you’re the coolest thing on earth. When she is speaking to me, its in a condescending tone. Which is funny because she’s super dumb…. like she asked me if Boston was a state, kinda dumb. I hate it here. Thank God I do have a couple people I care about here.
Pray for me that I’m able to find a different job after the wedding!
What’s your worst boss story?

I disliked my boss from our interview. He asked me a question that was completely inappropriate, borderline illegal. but I was so desperate for the job that I had to accept it (I had been looking for a YEAR). So here I am one year later and he still irks me. Can’t wait to find something new.

Not only am I starting to not like my bosses, but I’m starting to truely hate my job, and I’m with ya! I really hope to find a new job either before or after the wedding. I’m looking into doing some crafts that could be sold on etsy as a sort of side job lol!
I don’t really any bad boss stories like that as much as I do bad boss everydays! One of them keeps having misscarriages because she won’t eat, won’t stop doing drugs, and won’t stop drinking. Oh and not sleeping more than four hours. I love her to death most days though. She’s in a kind of love triangle square with a server. She’s married has a beautiful daughter, but her “best friend” is in love with her. And she doesn’t really do much to kill the feelings. He is dating a girl who is absolutely in love with him. The owner won’t put his foot down and punish people even after he yells at managers for not disaplining employees. The Groomsmen is almost worthless, all he knows how to do is take orders(only when we are beyond slammed), bus tables (only when we’re really busy)…
okay I’ll stop now before I explode.

Man that really sucks! It is so hard to work for someone you really don’t like… and I’ve been there! My worst boss story I think is when I worked in a restaurant and my (female) boss hated me. I have no idea why, except she seemed to be pretty bitter towards all the female servers, particularly ones that didn’t kiss her a**. So, my (now ex) bf got a job working at the same place as a chef and she l-o-v-e-d him. One day about 2 weeks after he started she found out we were dating and she actually asked him “wow! i had no idea you date ****! how could you date someone like HER?” Are you freakin kidding me??? She ended up psuedo-firing me after I put in my 2 weeks notice (i wanted to take a weekend off to attend a life-threatening surgery my brother was having, she wouldn’t give me the time off). Then she got fired for being drunk on the job. Karma’s a bitch.
As for my current boss, I didn’t vote. 🙂 I think “i adore him” is a little strong… but I do like him most days. I think he’s a really good person with a good heart and he treats me well. He does have some really really really annoying habits that make my life/job particularly hard some days, and on those days I get frustrated with him (like today!). But, I’d say overall I’m lucky to have a boss I respect.

I have a director then 2 other bosses. They are all awesome. They don’t micromanage me, they just give me work/projects and I do my normal stuff. I love my job. It is a year position but I’m wishing/hoping/praying that it is made permanent because I love it and our office. I’ve NEVER said that about a job before!

- Wedding: May 2011 - Bartram's Garden
For the first time in my entire life, I really like my boss. He’s great.

Dislike is a tame word for how I feel about him… He’s a sexist jerk.
He continually says things like “It’s so weird that you’re an engineer, what made you go that route, it’s so weird for girls”. Or he comments on my outfits, “How do you manage to look different everyday, I could never put that much effort into my clothes” To which I should respond that the only real difference is that I don’t wear the same outfit 5 days in a row.
He also continually denies me time off. Even when I ask well in advance, and have vacation days! For this I have started going above him to my official boss (this guy is just my supervisor kinda thing).
Oh! And one day he told me I had been promoted, I was like oh? And he says “yes, someone referred to you as a lady today, not a girl”. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
Don’t worry… I have been documenting all of this…

@rachel_leigh- I hope we BOTH find something new. Please don’t let it take me a whole year!
@bobbypinpearls- I wish I had a side hustle, I’d try to do the same thing. Good luck with that! Hating your job is the worst, we spend a lot of time at these places.
@corgitales- that’s crazy messed up. I worked in restaurants throughout HS and college and I loved the work but the female bosses all happened to be mean!
@soon2beemrsm- you seem like a very nice person but I hate you… just kidding! I’m glad you have such a great work environment, I’m just jealous!

She has her problems, but other than that she’s good. No issues here.

@danadelphia- that’s so great. I’m confident I’ll be able to say that one day. Or else I’m gonna have to pick up a trade so I can work alone. Which sucks because I’m a social person but these chicks are rough!
@ottawabride2011- I’d freakin lose it on that guy! That’s overtly sexist and you shouldn’t have to deal with it. You should totally record him, then go to his boss. Yuck.
@zippylef- I can deal with issues. As long as she treats you well. My boss has issues and she’s a sh*thead soooo….

Me!!! Sorry had to go under my sleuth name with no pictures attached. He’s an egotistical gossipy jerk who’d rather be flirted with than have real work done. Should have avoided him, even though I needed the job in the area of hub, when he said ‘oh, your husband will have a great job, there’s no reason you’ll even have to work’. Great to say to someone who just finished an advanced degree. Luckily, I’m only working for him for another month and a half, unluckily I have no other job lined up.

@jennifer – Oh I am definitely keeping track. Once I gather enough “evidence” I might make a move. I’m not usually a trouble-maker but I may have to in this case!!!

I love my boss. She is my mom 🙂 Some people cannot work with their families but I could never imagine life without seeing her every day.

@ troubled- I don’t blame you for hiding your identity. I just wouldn’t mind if my boss were to read this. Although considering she’s newly divorced, I doubt this is a site she frequents.
@ ottawabride2011- good! I am not a troublemaker either but he’s just asking for it. I can’t believe people still think its safe to speak to women or anyone like that.
@ ms. caniche- I would love to work for my mother! She’d probably drive me nuts but that’s cool with me. Too bad its not an option.

I hate my job, and most of the people i work with. BUT it is a job and pays my bills, so i’m thankful for that.
