Okay – I’m supposed to get my engagement pictures back tomorrow and I’m nervous. Neither my fiance or I are huge “picture people”. As in – don’t know how to pose/smile/stand/etc in front of a camera. As in no selfie iPhone pics, no pictures from friends, nothing. 9 times out of 10 I dislike how I look in photos and he does as well.
So, I’m curious. How many of your e-pics did you love? Did you use all, most, or hardly any of them?
If the poll options are totally off- just say so and I’ll chage them!

I’m getting mine back this week as well! I’m soo nervous. We got two sneak peaks and I honestly wasn’t crazy about them. I just can’t naturally smile around people I don’t know well. My MOH took pics of us last year and I looooved them bc I was comfortable. I’m sure your pics will turn out beautifully, be sure to post!

I loved most of ours. Sure there were some weird ones in there that I will never show anyone or look at again, but I really liked 75% of them

I got 75 pictures and I put 49 online and actually like! I’d say be realistic and know that you won’t like ALL of them, but honestly, you really only need a few favorites that you will use anyway! I got mine back last week and I am very happy with how they turned out 🙂 I know you will probably really like at least 5 of them! Don’t worry about it too much, they are just e pics!

I HATE my usual pictures (anything anyone ever takes of me), so I didn’t even want to bother paying someone to take pictures I’d just hate.
One of my best friends took them and I kid you not, when you’re in love and having fun, the pictures take themselves.
I loved 90% of them. I was making stupid faces in the other 10%.

I’m glad you all liked so many of your pictures! That makes me feel a lot better. We had a lot of fun taking the pictures so I’m hoping that shows on camera.
In the winter we took some pictures with a friend (the one in my profile pic) but I had this cute outfit on underneath my coat. She wanted me to keep that bulky coat on over my sweater and in all of the other picures I look like I weight 20lbs more than I actually do. So, we did professional ones to have some better pictures of us – I should be getting my pictues in a bit so I’ll post when I do!

- Wedding: November 2011 - Florida Aquarium
We did two sets– one we paid for (with a groupon) and one that came with our wedding package. We loved both. We loved the groupon set so much that we actually paid $300 more to get the digital rights to all the photos because we couldn’t choose just a few.

I usually hate the way I look in pictures. Also, DH and I both hate taking pictures. However, I loved our engagement pictures! The photographer did a great job giving us directions without looking too posed and told us when our smiles looked fake 🙂

We got 430 pictures back and I only liked about 30 of them, so ~7%. I made too many weird faces, unfortunately, or didn’t like the angle that it showed or something. I didn’t hate many of them, but I didn’t love many, either.

We got 104 photos back, and there were only two or three that I truly disliked. About 50% I LOVED and would gladly hang up, have in an album, show to anyone, etc. The other half were still great and I enjoyed them, just not as much.
I was nervous because I had gained weight shortly before the session, so I worried I’d hate how I looked in all of them. Yet, I had super high expectations and excitement waiting for them to come back.
I wasn’t disappointed in the slightest. The photographer captured the moments perfectly – you can just see the emotions and our feelings for each other. I’m too captivated by that to notice that my arms may look a little bigger or I have a bit of pudge here and there.

We got back around 350 and I only had about 30-40 picutres I liked enough to ever show anyone. It wasn’t the photographer’s fault though. The ones I didn’t like were because my hair looked weird or my FI wasn’t smiling or he was squishing my boob from holding me or my shirt made me look fat, blah blah blah. I think it mostly came down to half my hair falling out (not even an ounce of a curl on one side) and my insecurities about my body.

I usually hate photos of me. I feel like I’m not photogenic at all and am very uncomfortable with cameras.
However, I did end up liking almost all of our engagement pictures. I guess having a professional really helped.
Yes, I didn’t look skinny and young in the pictures, but that’s because I’m not. I feel like the photos captured what I actually look like, but in the best light.

Our photog took 200+ shots, and we only liked 1 for our saves, and one to be printed out.

I’d say we liked about 95% of ours. We used 12 of our pictures on our wedding invitations!

I think the moral here may be that some photographers are not editing tightly enough. 400 images from and engagement shoot is crazy. That’s a wedding! A tighter edit would give a couple the 50 they really want
