I easily have over 125. Bad I know, I worked at dsw for 6 months and bought 100 pairs and I prob buy a few pairs every month
I don't have a clue how many pairs I have. I know it's more than 40, but probably fewer than 70. And I'm ALWAYS on the look out for more!
I have 5. Not even kidding. I have runners, flats, casual tennis shoes, black kitten heels, and a pair of boots. I love the boots, I'm 21 and they are my first pair ever.
I have outrageously huge feet though, I can't buy shoes from normal shops. I've probably saved myself a lot of money over the years by not being able to find shoes that fit.
If I could, I would pay big bucks to have a size 8 or 9 foot rather than the 12 I have now.
I love looking at cute pairs of shoes but I almost never actually buy them - even the shoes I wore for my wedding were a pair I already owned!
That said, including flip flops and my winter boots I have about 15 pairs of shoes. My husband thinks that's excessive.
~35 but if I had the budget, I'd have more. They're fun and never make your butt look fat. ;)
I'm not home right now so I can't count but I would estimate that not including flip flops I have about 60 pairs currently.
Question for you bees: how do you keep your shoes organized? this is always a struggle for me.
Hmm, if I consider every pair, flip flops, uggs, wellies, etc. I would say 70. I spoiled myself with designer shoes a few years ago and since then haven't been able to buy anything else so the 600-1000 price tag keeps my purchases down to minimum.
haha. I am like such a horrible girl. I own like four pairs of shoes and that is all. I am so not a fashion forward person.
Gosh I thought I was horrible and only have about 50, but I live in an apartment!
I stopped counting at 100. I like shoes :)
I LOVE SHOES! I probably have about 50 pairs... and that's just a guess, it's probably more.
@Meowkers: I have a hanging shoe rack that holds probly about 20 pairs of flats... it's not useful for chunky heels or bulky sneakers, but great for sandals, flips flops, ballet flats, etc.... I just have it hanging in my closet and it doesn't take up too much room. I also bought a cheap-o 3 tier shoe shelf for the rest of my heels, sneakers etc. (also in my closet) My aunt has double the amount of shoes and she dedicated an entire closet just to shoes! My apt is too small for that, but man one day... one day haha!
I stopped counting at 100 too!! Half the master closet, the entire guest room closet and under a queen-sized bed. I stopped buying when I gained weight because wearing heels were not as comfortable. I know that once I lose the weight the shoe shopping will commence.
@Meowkers: I have the shoe organizer that is basically two mini shelfts. I have a few of them... but they stack! And they look so tidy. Someday, when we are out of our academic nomad phase, I want to have a complete closet system because I love organization. This is good for now, but I'd love those little containers that keep them dust free if we had the room.
Right now I have...
2 pairs of flats (one needs to be retired)
2 pairs of sandal/heels (one needs to be retired)
1 pair of kitten heels
2 pairs of boots (one fancy, one rubber baby!)
1 pair of 'skate' shoes
1 pair of winter boots.
So 9 (footwear) total. I haven't been buying shoes lately though. I've been itching for some flats/ cross trainers, but I am waiting for my birthday to spoil myself :)
I don't wear flip flops...but with shoes & boots (I live in Minnesota), I have about 125 pair. My son counted. LOL!
I have moved many times since going away to college--3 times cross-country, 2 times internationally, and a handful of times between apartments in the same city--and every time I pack, I get rid of heaps of shoes and tell myself, "Never again!" I pare down my wardrobe to the essentials and chuck the rest!
As of now (including wedding shoes), I have 19 pairs. Not great, but considering 3 of them are my winter and gum boots, I'm not doing too badly.
They are so dang hard to resist, though.
I easily have 50 pairs of sandals alone... and only wear 1 pair. Pumps and wedges probably 20-30 and rarely wear them, but I guess if I had a job I would wear those more often.
I'd say I own 30 pairs of shoes. I love shoes but a lot of the time I can resist buying a new pair, b/c I'd rather spend that money on a new top or skirt.
I've probably got between 20 - 30 pairs right now. Including winter boots, hiking boots, hiking sandals, flip flops, flats, boots and high heels. My house needs more storage before I can buy more! (or maybe just a new house...)
@Meowkers: FH build me shoe racks (pretty much book cases) They look beautiful with all my shoes!
I'll have to itemize my list:
That's 76 pairs. I think I have more that are in yet-unpacked boxes, so I'd pump that up to maybe 85-90 instead.
Oh my goodness, this thread is making me feel so much better! Fi makes me feels so guilty about how many shoes I have--and I only have about 18 pairs! I'll have to show him this so he realizes how much restraint I've exhibited in shoe buying, lol.
40 or so? when we moved into our house, i did a "clean-up" of shoes/clothes and tried to get rid of as many as i could part with...
then obivously in the last year i've bought more shoes... so i'm back to 40 :)
I too have an addiction to shoes. Luckily I've been broke for awhile so that helped curb the habit :o/
I think I probably have between 50-60, most of which I don't get much wear out of because they're not a neutral color.
I have to explain to my husband regulary that there will never, ever, EVER, be a point in my life when I say, "I think I have to many shoes". The same goes for bags, jewelry and clothes. Oh well!
I'm going to estimate 40-50. Man, that seems like a lot, but here in my office I already have 8 pairs. I seem to think I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes, and when I do find them, I snatch them up right away!
Too many. Probably about 50 or so. I have still yet to find the perfect pair. These are my newest addition:

I have around 30, but I'm not sure exactly how many.
Once I'm able to afford a nice pair of Loubs or Choos, my shoes collection will be complete :)
I'm not at home to count, but I'm approximating maybe 30, which I think is probably on the low end.
I get rid of clothes and shoes often though. I hate having too much crap around the house. I never understand the girl who has like 200 pairs of shoes, and 50 of them are from like highschool years...I mean, really? Are they even in style anymore???
My mom has probably 300 pairs of shoes. I call her Imelda Marcos.
Oops, double post.
Also, I just realized that most people under the age of 35 or so might not remember Imelda Marcos. Sorry.
I have at least 150 pair.
I have racks on the back of the bedroom and office doors, 2 tiered adjustable racks on the floor of both closets, and flip flops, sandals and flats stored in the wooden shelf section of the closet organizer.
I have started a donation bad to a local thrift shop. I am determined to get rid of any pair that isn't comfortable or causes a blister for example, every time I wear them. I think those will be in the minority though, because I am very careful not to buy shoes that don't fit well.
Hundreds - seriously it is a sickness. I buy rubbermaid containers with locking lids and I take a picture of every pair and I tape the picture to the front of the box. I use the big rubbermaids for boots and I use big ones to stack flip flops too. They are easy to stack and carry this way. I rotate the boxes from closets to basement based on season. My husband always knew I had a lot of shoes but not until we moved in together did he fully understand. My mom is the same way so I guess that is where I got it :/
I'm almost have 50 pairs
this is my recently bought a pair of shoes
i like it very much

are you ok?
i have about 10 pairs. but in the last 8 years i have only worn 2 pairs religously. at the beginning of summer i treat myself to a new pair of birkenstocks and at the beginning of winter i buy a new pair of blundstone boots. out here in the middle of the mothertrucking desert, there is not any need for anything else!
but i buy books. lots of lovely books! thousands! and when i get married to my equally book-mad fiance, we will have thousands of thousands books!
