So what I was trying to do, was count the ceiling tiles…I got 12 x12 or so from your pictures, but I’m going to say maybe it’s 20×15 just because it’s hard to see all of them….This is how I would do it, draw a grid that’s the dimensions of the tiles, and draw circles to represent your lanterns, it doesn’t give you the hanging effect but you can get an idea of how many you might need.

I guessed and got too many πŸ™ But I sold them, because paper lanterns are in high demand πŸ™‚

Personally, i don’t like really tiny lanters, IMO the 8″ and 12″ were too small. I went with various sizes of 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, and 24. I love variation of sizes πŸ™‚

Sorry, don’t know if this helps with your question at all, haha πŸ™‚

As a general rule, buy more than you think you need (like double!) and that should be about right! Unless mapping out the ceiling tiles works out, then you’ll have a more accurate idea, I think.

Thought I’d offer up the cheapest site I found for lanterns – prices are significantly lower than anywhere else I could find:  http://www.paperlanternstore.com
