Sorry if this is a really noob question, but if you only have 1 photographer, how do you get pictures of the groom and bride getting ready? People at the reception, while we’re getting our bridal party pictures done?
Do most photographers have like, a wingman or something? 🙂 I only ask because I’m getting a friend of the family to do my pictures, but I don’t know if he has a wingman or anything.

I think it is definitely a good idea to have 2 photographers. My photographer brought her husband who is also a photographer. He took pics of the guys getting ready while she took of the girls. Also for the ceremony it is very helpful so they are able to get shots from all directions. I would definitely recommend it

@Monkey786: Thanks so much! 🙂 I think I will do this. I want the main photographer to be the guy, but I’ll hire a woman too. I know a lot of photographers, thankfully.
The man will take pictures of the boys getting ready, the girl will take pictures of the girls, and then for the reception the guy will do the bridal party pictures, and then the girl stay at the venue and take pictures before we get there.
Would it be crazy to also hire a videographer on TOP of the two photographers?

@silkspectre94: I had a videographer too. I guess it all just depends on your budget. I got a fairly cheap videographer ($1200). He captures everything, but isn’t too updated with his graphics etc.

My photographer has an assistant that will take pictures of the groom getting ready 🙂

Even though this is a family friend, I assume that you are still doing a contract with him? He may require that he selects the second shooter/assistant-most photographers do. If you weren’t planning on a contract- PLEASE do- there have been some horrific posts on here on what can go wrong without one.
