@jasonkatie2014:  Wow!  That’s so unprofessional.  It’s likely she felt a bit slighted that you didn’t like your photos, but that is no reason to make those comments about your appearance! Completely uncalled for.

I found my photog at a wedding show, and I met with one other person I found at the show in addition to her.  We focused mostly on style, and also just had a general conversation…we really clicked with ours, on wedding details and just in general.  Another big thing was letting them explain their vision based on what you’ve told them….if they can take some initiative with your wedding and talk about what they see or can do for you, and if it matches your own vision.

Fret not!  You’ll find your perfect photographer! I’m sorry you’re back to square one though. 🙁 Definitely leave a review for your first one!

@jasonkatie2014:  uhm I saw your other thread and WTF?! You so clearly are a thin person who was not posed or photographed properly! Also my brother is white and his gf is black and they dont seem to have a problem being photographed together. Glad you are moving on from this nut!

@jasonkatie2014:  Just one.

I used this as a guideline for our meeting, but she (they are actually a husband wife team) answered all of my questions without me having to go off of the sheet much

@bellaluna290:  That is an excellent list!

My photographer answered most of that info via her website and volunteered the info along with references. All in all I interviewing about 10+.

That’s easily one of the rudest things I’ve ever heard. I can’t imagine blaming a client for bad results. Ever. Run away.

@jasonkatie2014:  We sent out inquiring emails to about 8 photographers.  We met and interviewed 3.  The one we chose was our number 1 choice all along and we’re so happy we hired her!

Ugh, definitely do not use that photographer! I can’t believe she said all that.

We had to pick ours from overseas, so I didn’t get to meet any in person. I emailed probably about 8 and talked to 3 on the phone. Then I posted our top two faves here and let the bees vote 🙂

@bellaluna290:  This list is great except for #13. very few of us are going to bring equipment for a slide show – this can be done by you or your DJ. I also will never do an instant edit, which requires me to use part of your day to edit and organize photos when I could/should be shooting. Honestly I hate this gimmick.

Also, I wouldn’t necessarily advise you to ask for five references. That is what reviews are for. How annoyed would you be if your photographer kept giving out your name and email to prospective brides to contact you months/years after the wedding? SUPER annoying.

@mariematt:  Yeah…I skipped over that because it wasn’t something that was important to me.  I didn’t personally ask for references…their reviews and the fact that they were booked solid for 2013 when I met with them in early January spoke for itself.

Just one. My fiancé and I loved her work online, we met with her and she was so lovely,  showed us about 15 full weddings (I didn’t see many bad photos at all!), told us her pricing,  and we booked her then and there.
