So my FI and I have finally settled on a photographer we both love. It was a long and frustrating journey because photography is high priority for us and FI is quite particular about it. Actually, this photography group was well out of our budget, but they have been very generous in working with our budget, creating a custom package for us, and even negotiating the deposit amount.
The only thing that makes me hesitate is the number of pictures we will get from our engagement shoot. Granted, it will only be a 30 minute shoot and we’re more interested in getting familiar with the photographer than the actual pictures we will get. But I’m just curious…how many pictures did you get from your engagement shoot?

We got 82 pics I think, but it was about an hour shoot.

ceiveI think our session was about an hour and a half, and we received 95 edited pictures, many of which I absolutely love. But we decided to do the engagement shoot before hiring them (husband & wife team) for the wedding. So after we got the pics back we met with them again at a Starbucks, and I think we spent about an hour talking about the wedding and just getting to know eachother. I think we spent about 10 minutes talking about things related to the concept of abandoning an infant at a “safe place” Burger King. They didn’t charge us for the meeting at all. So if after the engagement shoot you can find an excuse to see your photographer again before the wedding, I highly recommend it!

Are we talking edited or unedited?
We got over 700 pictures, but only about 30 of them were edited. Our shoot was about an hour and a half.
