I got about 450 pictures from my photographer, but I only like/love about 40-60.
Most of them are sevvvveral duplicates, just slightly different angles (and bad angles at that) of me and my DH in the SAME EXACT POSE…I was just wondering what the “norm” was for brides.
So, how many photos did you get, and out of those how many did you actually like/love?
I guess I would’ve rather had only 100-200 photos, but loved them all. It seems like a lot of photographers are proud of the QUANTITY of photos they provide, over the QUALITY.
(I don’t know how to remove the poll… I was going to add one but then I changed my mind. Ooops.)

We got 464 photos and of those photos that I LOVED (as in would print and put on my walls) I would say I have a good 50 to choose from. BUT there are also a lot of photos that I love because they captured the moment between my mom and dad seeing me getting married, or my ring bearer pouting because he didn’t want to go down the aisle…those pictures I love because it takes me back to my wedding day, but I also don’t want them printed and on my walls. About 100 of our photos are of the table settings, venue, cake etc where again it helped capture the details of our wedding (and ended up in our wedding photo book) but I’m not printing out the picture of my cake and framing it anytime soon.
I should also add that my photographer took a TON of photos and combed through each one, edited the good ones and deleted the not so great photos. So I feel I got great quality photos from my photographer and she didn’t care about the quanity that she gave me.

453 pro pix total and truly – loved nearly all of them. We did a do-it-ourself old fashioned basic photo album and ordered about 270 to make it. Our photographer truly knocked it out of the park and we couldn’t believe she got some of the shots she did.
We picked 10 to frame and put up around the house in rotation.

She was one of my best vendors.

I got 600 and truly loved almost all of them. I printed like 40 8x10s, not to display of course, but just to store. There were so many great ones that couldnt be contained in a 4×6 or even 5×7, it was difficult narrowing down even to 40 enlargements. I printed all 600 and put them in the largest album I could find, and had to add extra pages, but they seriously were all display worthy. When a sale runs on 5x7s, I’ll be ordering a couple hundred more.
Each photo was a unique photo, even though the pose was similar in many. Like, we would be posed but just have our heads turned different or smiling instead of serious face. Or it would be a different angle, or she would move our bodies to a different pose. Even the b/w ones were unique from the color ones. she was phenomenal how she got so many poses, so many unique shots, but then we also had a venue that had a ton of photo op spots, and we used every one.

Your poll’s not working for me so I’ll answer here. I got 1100 pros and another 1000 guest pics on nice SLR cameras. I’d say I LOVE about 100 of them and put them into a separate folder on my computer 🙂 So far from this page looks like 10% is the norm.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Christmas Tree Farm
We got around 1200 pictures, and about 300 made it onto our favorites list. Since then, I’ve looked back through the “Maybe” and “No” piles and found even more that I love. I could not have been happier with our photographer.

We got 1100 photos (7 hours) and to be completely honest there are only about 10-20 that I really don’t like. There was a lot of variety and we have so many favourites it was hard to put our album together! I’m sorry you didn’t have a similar experience 🙁
Our photographer stayed for much of the reception and to our delight we discovered that she took couple/ group pics of most of our guests. We actually printed off 200 pics (would have been some duplicates in there) and included them in our thank you cards! People were really surprised 🙂 it’s lovely to have those memories Of all our family & friends…

I got about 350, and plan on putting 95 of them in an album.. and of those 95, I’ll probably frame about 10-20.
