Just curious, how long did it take from the time the urine was on the pregnancy test to get even a faint line that indicates a positive result? Does it matter on which brand you use? I know that even a faint line – is a line, but how long for it to actually form? Most brands say 3 minutes, but I had a friend who didn’t have a positive result for 8 min. and she turned out to be positively pregnant.

My positive result came up in less then a minute. It was the Walgreens Brand.
Before that I would wait the recommend amount of time as stated on the instructions then toss it and try again in a couple days.

@newbabybee: My positive result showed up at about 10 min – likely because the HCG was so low (ended in m/c). A line is a line, but the fainter it is and longer it takes to show up – I’d be weary. You know?

the earlier you test means that only a small amount of hormones is being picked up, if you give it a few days and it should get progressivly darker.

I think mine took about a minute..it was a FRER and the line was very faint but pink. I kept it for days and the line stayed!

I took three pregnancy tests, one for each week. I had some symptoms but was not sure so did one every week. The first two showed negative as soon as I saw the stick was colored and the indicators showed non pregnant when done.
The third one on the other hand showed a positive straight away when I saw the indicator was fully marked and the extra stripe showed up. It took like 30 secs. appr.

My second line came up almost immediately. Definitely 30 secs or less, but as long as the line shows within the recommended time (3 min), I say you’re good.
