I’m just wondering how many of you are currently servers? It’s a rough job, and no one really understands why unless they’ve served before. So I guess this is a shout out to all the servers on here. What restaurant do you serve at? How long have you been doing it? I work at California Pizza Kitchen and have been serving for about 5 years now.

I used to be. I was a server at Macaroni Grill for 2-3 years and at Ruby Tuesday for another 2. I actually kind of liked it… good money and I never felt like it was that hard. Not that it didn’t ever get crazy, but the crazy just made it go by faster. 🙂

I completely agree. I hate when it’s slow. So so boring. I’d rather be super busy making the chedda! haha!

Ex-server here! I worked at two different local restaurants in Austin for a total of a little over two years. Sometimes I miss it, but then I remember how hard it was and how badly I was treated by customers. I liked the comaraderie (and the sidework, haha).

@miss chirpie- yep! I loved when I was totally slammed because I’d blink and it was over then woah– loads of cash 🙂 I have never had a job that went by as quickly as serving… I think there were whole days I barely looked at my watch!
