Parties are popping up everywhere for me! My MOH is throwing me a bridal shower and bachelorette party. My work is throwing me a shower. And now my great Aunt wants to throw me a shower…I tried to refuse, but she won’t take no for an answer. I asked if she would consider calling it/it being a bridal luncheon because she’s really only inviting our parents and a close relatives (less than 10 people) most of whom are contributing to the wedding and will have already attended another shower…so I don’t want to keep asking them for gifts.
For showers, what’s too much? How many did you have?
ETA: I’m so very grateful for the wonderful women in my life who are doing so much to celebrate this special time for me.

@Skittles131: I’d be happy with 1, but I’m not getting any 🙁
Most of my friends have had a couple

I had 3. My dear friend, my aunt/god mother and family and then DH’s work! We were soooo touched! I personally don’t feel there a number for you to adhere to but do what feels best for you!

I had just one. My MIL wanted to have another one for me but I said no.

@Skittles131: It’s very rude to invite the same guests to more than one shower. Don’t do it. Either cancel the subsequent showers, have an entirely different guest list or change it to a lunch or some other non gift giving event.
Also keep in mind that multiple parties celebrating the same wedding get tiresome very fast for repeat guests.

I had one, and that was more than enough for me!

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
I think I will be having three. FSIL is throwing me one for their side of the family, my MOH is throwing one for our side of the family and my close friends (she’s my cousin), and work has talked about doing a little something for me too.

There’s no option for 0. I live away from our familes and friends, so there won’t be one. Plus we aren’t registering so even if I did live near everyone there wouldn’t be one anyway.

@pixiecat: sorry I put 0 in there, but forget it takes it off the poll unless you type the word. Changing it now!

I had 2 bridal showers and 2 baby showers. It would have been too difficult for EVERYONE to come to one shower because of distance. So we had one in one part of the area and rhe other in another area.

grr though now it messed up voting…says 6 people voted zero when they voted 1. Ahh sorry.

@Skittles131: I’m going to be having 2 showers (one in my hometown with family and friends, one where we live now with FI’s family and my local friends) and my bachelorette “party” (If it even counts…it will just be my sister, my cousin, and one BM in vegas…so nothing crazy)
