Alot of my college friends have gotten engaged/married but that is it. I would be the first of my high school crew.
My brothers were all married before me (They're 5-12 years older). I had several HS and college friends get married first too. It didn't really bother me.
@DaisyBride: Yea I wasn't really bothered by the majority of them getting married. The only one that kind of got was my 21 year old sis.
I voted 4-6 but the real number is 5. Me and my BF have been together 4.5 years. EVERYONE we know has gotten engaged, married and has had children already!!!
Mind you we have been together WAY longer than any of them!
OK, this is a little complicated for me.
FI and I first got engaged in 2005. Aside from maybe one other friend, I was the first to get engaged.
Didn't work out. We were still together, but not engaged anymore. We moved back in together around the very beginning of this year and got re-engaged and bought a house.
Well between the time we first got engaged and now, my only (and younger) brother got married and has two kids. And almost everyone I know is engaged or married. Lots of the people who are married weren't even dating yet when FI and I first got engaged. It feels really weird!!! LOL
Pretty much all of my close friends are already married. I have 6 siblings..My oldest sister has been married for 27 years (has been since she was 16). My younger brother has been married for 4 years (will be 5 on jan. 1st). The rest of us have never been married =) I am getting married in December, my younger sister is getting engaged in January (I know that but she doesn't...LOL).
My dad was 42 when he got married so it never really bothered me that all of my friends have been married and have started families. I always knew that I would be a "late bloomer" so to speak.
We were raised not to believe in, or ever contemplate divorce so we all are taking our time and waiting on the right person b/c we will be with them for the rest of our lives =)
We attended seven weddings this past summer alone. SEVEN. And some of those couples started dating after we did.
3 in the last 4 weeks alone... alot of people I KNOW are engaged and/or married, but I wouldn't call them friends, exactly.
Two of my best friends have gotten engaged/married and I just found out today that one of them is pregnant! I am so happy but a part of me wishes I could be going through all of this with them!!! A few other friends have gotten engaged/married as well and another friend of mine who isn't married yet is pregnant too! Whew!!!!!!!!!!!
Both my brothers are married. But FH's family he is the first to get engaged.
When I FB stalk (come on we all do it) it seems like I am the last of my HS friends to get engaged/married, but out of college I am among the first and only few who have so far. FH has told me most of his HS friends have yet to get married or engaged...He is from the same area but went to a different HS, he is also 3 years older than me. I guess people from my HS class were all about getting married
We're both the youngest in our families and the last to get married (it worked out perfectly in order). As far as friends, I think we each only had one friend to get engaged before us, the rest of our 'group' are single and I think only one other couple is engaged.
wow these poll results make me sad. what are our boys waiting for?!?!? but also make me feel a little better because it seems like the lot of us here are the rule and not the exception! that doesn't make it any better as a trend overall though.... sigh!
I was invited to nine weddings this summer and was able to go to nine. It was insane, and hard because my FI was in MN and I was/am in AK, and not engaged yet. I was invited to be in one that I could not make it too, and sang in one that I went too.
Most of my friends don't even have boyfriends, so yea, no one really got engaged. There was a friend who got engaged right after high school (because she was pregnant), my cousin, and then one other friend. We are all age 28-32.
none!!! a few people i was friends with in high school are married now but we aren't in contact so i really don't consider them as a point...
I am only 23 though so maybe thats why. two couple friends of ours are probably going to be getting engaged soon too.
Both of my younger sisters got married 4 years ago. As for my friends- high school, college, or after...well, every single one of them are married. It's about time I joined the crowd!
None!
I'm only 22...I'll be 23 when we get married so most friends arn't married/engaged. I also have a brother, but he is only 15...he'll be 16 in a month :)
None!
My sister is 1 yr older
My brother is 3 years younger
I am the only one engaged, and unless my sis gets engaged and married before next year, I will be the first to be married
Three of my bridemaids will be married (or divorced!) by thte time I'm married next year. Leaves only my sister, as maid of honor, as genuine "maid"!
I do have a friend that just got engaged though...I'm not sure when she's getting married exactly
There's only been one engagement since I started dating my SO. MinMan's brother got engaged and married recently, but that was a very small affair due to a pregnancy; it never felt like an exciting, "Oh guess what happened look at the sparkly!" sort of deal.
There are perks to being a twenty one year old in a whirlwind romance. I have yet to experience engagement jealousy (knock on wood!). None of my friends are anywhere near marriage, and the only two couples I can think of that may get engaged soon are a second cousin and my sister's SIL.
On MinMan's side, two of his friends got engaged recently, while all his married friends have been making babies like crazy. Hopefully that will be motivation for him. :P
I have tons of married friends. And also tons of single or "just dating" friends. I only have one younger brother, and he is not yet engaged/married.
everyone except 1. M has one friend that isn't married either. so that's all of my cousin's/friends except 1... when i facebook stalk most people are married except my friend that i was really close to and i think she was engaged but they must have broken it off...of course i have been engaged before but i wasn't even near to the first person that was engaged. unfortunately i found out that my cousin and her beau of more than 15 years are finally calling it quits :(... I'm oddly enough really sad to leave her behind and i know she'll be devastated when i get engaged even though she'll be happy for me. i sort of wish she'd beat me to the punch, especially since she's 4 years older than me. it just seems fairer that she gets to become enaged before me... sigh... okay... enough of that.
Depending on what happens before ill get engaged but of my close friends and close family ill be the first. although i did have 2 cousins get married this past summer but we weren't close
i have a few closer friends that got engaged and just about everyone on my facebook has changed their status. it's depressing going on that website anymore. it seems that the only thing people write about in their status updates is their weddings or engagements. boo.

Okay, so I know that I am not the only one (for obvious reason...hence the "waiting list") who has had others become in engaged before me but how many of you have? I have had 2 younger sisters (one got engaged in May and married in September of this year...and they have been together less time than me and the BF
) and my brother. I have had 6 childhood friends, 4 college friends, and 4 other friends all get engaged and married; the majority of them being within the past 2 years. I didn't count those prior.
