I was wondering how many sick days/mental health days etc you take per year are?
I am currently at 1 back in March of this year and left early about 2 months ago because I got food poisoning.
I could really use a mental health day tomorrow to just curl up and sleep but fee so guilty!

I am allotted 6. I normally never take any. This year I have taken all but one of them so far. I have had a stressful year and a couple were more mental heath days rather then sick days. Just needing a break.

Maybe 1 or 2 tops. I hardly ever call in sick…and if I do, I generally end up working late after that and recover any missed hours.

I have 15 days and so far I’ve taken 2.

@DeeVine1217: Where do you work that you get 15 Days! I would be shot after like 3!

As few as possible, which usually works out to be 2, usually because of crippling migraines.

I say take it. I take one about once every two months or so but they come out of my PTO that I’ve earned – so I dont feel bad for taking them. Everyone needs a break from everyday life once in awhile.

We don’t get “sick” days per se, we just have lumped together paid time off, so I have to use my PTO when I’m sick. This year I used 4 of my 14 vacation days on being sick. 🙁 Haven’t been sick in like 5 years and suddenly it all hit at once!

I get 8 a year and only use about half of them. I don’t get sick that often, but usually it’s just me needig a day off! I don’t feel bad about it, as I see his as part of my benefits package. I always make sure my staff have enough coverage, and they know they can call me if they need anything.

I just started a new career as a teacher this year. I haven’t taken any mental health or sick days yet, but I plan to take one in January to go to Disneyland with my FI! As a teacher, I get so much time off, it’s really bad to take any time off if I don’t need to. However, we’re allowed to use our 10 sick days as we see fit–no questions asked 🙂 They encourage us to stay home if we need to, since dealing with teenagers every day can be quite exhausting!
At my last job, however, I got 10 sick days per year and I used all of them every year. I got sick more often and since my job wasn’t as crucial, I didn’t feel guilty about taking time off.

0 is pretty much standard for me. It’s a serious rarity for me to get sick.

I’m contract/hourly so I try not to take any. I’ve taken 2 so far this year though. Both sick.

None – we dont get any sick days and I rarely get sick enough to stay out of work. Last time that happen was 5 years ago.

I have 15 days of whatever (sick, vacation, personal). I try to save all of that for vacation or personal stuff, so I rarely take a “sick” day – probably on average 1 a year. Fortunately I don’t get sick often.
