@swisea01:  lol I’ll help you out with a small bump. 🙂 We only had two songs played period since we had an intimate wedding.

Personally, I’d leave it up to the DJ, but FI is a music freak so I think he is going to have a looong list.

HAH I had like 90 and my DJ was like ummm can you narrow that down a bit please? So I highlighted the extra important ones but that’s still wayyy more than 15, more like 40 lol whoops.  I’m just super picky (almost did an ipod instead of a DJ just to be able to control the music completely)  He said usually people give him like 20-25 so I don’t think yours is unreasonable.

I was making a full on play list! Like one that could fill the entire reception, then my FI stopped me and told me it would insult our DJ (a personal aquaintance of ours). So I guess I have to just trust the DJ.

Our DJ suggested not having more than 10-15 must-play songs so that we don’t organize the whole evening. =) Me and my FI are going to follow his advice and probably only pick 10 at the most and he can kind of get the mood from our guests about what to play. He is also providing request cards which will help I think. 🙂

SO and I started brainstorming about music a while back and created a list that had about 20-30 songs on it. However, almost all of them happen to be part of our DJ’s general party mix so it worked out. For us, the list was more to help make sure he was the right fit for us.

Thanks for bringing this up, OP. I have like 20 songs on my list right now and was planning on making it longer. But I can see how it would probably better to pick a few of the ones we really want to hear and which we can probably live without. It’s hard not to micromanage everyone when it comes to this wedding though :p
