Along the same lines as my other poll (KLP2010's comment made me think of it) ..... How many states within the US and/or US territories have you been to? (sorry international bees - this one doesn't apply to you so much) 
For the purposes of the poll, I count states that you've driven through (because you see a good portion of the state) but not states where you've only made a flight connection at the airport.
I've currently been to 35 of the 50 US States (plus Washington DC). I've not been to the Virgin Islands or Guam.
ETA: Of the 35 states I've been to, I've lived in 5 of them (although one was just for a summer internship so not very long).
I've only been to 17 out of 50 states and DC.... that's pretty pathetic. Mostly stuck to the East Coast for all of my life!
Just one. We used to go to Buffalo New York for chicken wings and cheap beer. At that time, I lived on the Niagara Falls border. Ahhhhh, to be young again, lol
I've been to 19 states (plus DC) that I remember. I've been told I went to Nebraska & Maryland when I was younger, but if I don't remember it at all I don't really count it!
I've only lived in 2 states though.
Haha, I would have to look at a map. States I have actually gone to to visit are Connecticut, New York, Florida, and Louisiana....but I drove to all of them, so passed a few different states, haha. I suck at geography.
Ive been to 48. Missing out on Alaska and N. Dakota. My parents were big on cross country trips growing up (we went 3 times). Packed the 7 kids in the motorhome (plus a cousin or two on some trips) and drove from NJ to Cali and back. At the time I didnt really appreciate it. More rocks and trees and hills... borrrring! But looking back some of my favorite childhood memories were on these trips... plus it forced me and my siblings to be close and play with one another for weeks on end. :) Have also been to DC.
@Lindsay12.31.2010: I totally just googled "Map of the United States" so I could look at it an go "yep" "yep" "yep" "nope" . . .

Living in NYC makes it easy to travel to all those tiny east coast states... NH, VT, CT, MA, NJ, RI, DE, etc.
I've been to 28 states and DC. My family went on a cross-country road trip the summer before 7th grade, so that added quite a few states to my list :)
Been to 19 states + DC (although I forgot to click that on the poll too, whoops). I've lived in 4 :)
I want to see them all eventually!
I counted nine, but forgot two. So it's 11 for me. Not bad, since I've only been living in the States for less than 5 years.
I have been to 14 states and Washington D.C. I think its funny that it is one more then the number of countries I have been to.
19 states, DC and I have lived in 3 different states. I want to see them all, but there are some (ahem, the suuuuuper cold ones) that I just don't know that I'll make it to.

@PinkDeer: and @cbee: You definitely need to check Alaska off your lists! DH and I honeymooned there and it is absolutely GORGEOUS! We loved it and there is so much beautiful nature to see (and glaciers are just magnificent).
Being British i've been to California and New York. I'd love to see more of the US.
I have been to 12 states:
New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Conneticut, Vermont, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, Ohio, Florida, & California.
I've only lived in a few: Texas, DC, South Carolina, and Georgia. However I've passed thru and visited Tennessee, California, Kentucky, Maryland, Virgina, Ohio, Indiana, Florida, and North Carolina.
I hope to visit many more!!

I've been to 20 states, plus DC and PR, and I've lived in 3 states and PR.
23 for me. Pretty much the just western half, excluding Washington, and a road trip to Virginia (and D.C.). Other than that, just Florida when I was little and a trip to Minnesota and Michigan each. I think I've probably travelled more internationally than I have domestically!
Oh, and I've lived in two states - Colorado and Wyoming.
I'm Canadian but have done a lot of road trips through the States.
I've been to 25 states + DC.
well i have lived in 5 (louisana, alabama, tennesee, texas, and florida) but i have also visited: Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Washington (state), Illinois, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina. so 15, i believe.
Plus DC and the Virgin Islands. Lived in Virginia, Connecticut and Washington state.
34 I think. Have not been to DC. Lived in 4 states (WA, ME, RI and FL).
@azula: Guam and the Virgin Islands are US territories while Puerto Rico is a commonwealth. I view those differently and had to draw the line somewhere. Sorry. :(

I've lived in three: Arkansas (when I was a kid), Texas (where I grew up) and now Indiana.
Visited: Ohio, New York, Florida (for work), Illinois, and Michigan (I live about 5 minutes from the border.)
Passed through: Oklahoma, Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin, and Kentucky (At least I think so.)
49 states and DC. I traveled alot while working in politics and some while traveling to rodeos. There are certain states I will NEVER go back too, but all in all I love the fact that all I have left is Hawii and we will get there next year with the "Fun Cousins Vacation".
I've been to thirteen. I live in Maryland so of course I've been to D.C. I've also been to VA, PA, NY, CT, MA, NV, HI, SC, NC, AK, WV and FL.
