How many thank you cards to buy?

Hey Hive - here's one for all you incredibly smart gals!

How many Thank You cards should I order? Should I assume one for every invite just to be safe?

Hi Sweeney2Be!Â Do you anticipate having any bridal showers?Â If so, you may end up getting more than one present per invited guest.Â I'm not sure if you'd want to use the same thank you cards for both events, but if you do I'd order 20% more than the number of invites.Â If not, than 1 per invite should work nicely.

Like alibride said, you should definitely get extras. I'm sure you have people in your life who aren't invited but still might send you something. I ordered "postcards" with wedding photos, and turned the leftovers into announcements to send to people who we really hadn't included in any part of the wedding planning (distant cousins, etc. that we felt we should probably inform we got married, but we were never gonna invite them in the first place).

Thats a really good idea, makes me wish it didn't say "Save The Date" all over my STD's that I wordered near 50 too many of....lol.

I think I might get some shower ones as well, just not sure how many to get as I'm not sure how many I will have or the guest lists of some...

Too many is better then too little. Just have to remind myself of that

We are not getting a really "wedding-y" TY card - and it doesn't actually say Thank You on it. Just a nice card embossed with our names. So I figure we can use it for anything... We are sending about 80 invitations, I would probably order 100 TY cards to be safe, but since its just a nice card that we can use afterwards I may order more.
