We arent married yet, but so far 3 (5 months out) I think we will have 2 more meetings. Probably a total of 5.
We've already met 3 times... and we're not done yet! We've got another 8.5 months till the wedding too! haha
We have met once with the priest who will marry us (and will probably meet 2 more times).
We have met 4 times already with our parish priest, and we will meet with him at least 3 more times (depends on how much help he thinks we need- haha).
Seems like a lot, but I'm actually enjoying it.
We have to meet with ours 4 times. He's really cool though so I dont mind. I actually tell him everything. When he asks questions about our 150 question test I just answered truthfully and he is so cool with it. He's even cool with us living together. He says the times are changing and so his mindset needs to too. I hope you all have a great experience with your priest like we are.
Our priest told us 3 times: initial meeting to gather our information, a second time after we do our marriage preparation, and the final meeting to discuss the ceremony details.
Wow, we've only met with our priest once. We went over our FOCCUS results with him and did the archdiocesan pre-nuptial questionnaire with him. We might meet with him once more before the wedding to go over last minute things but other than that, we have just been communicating with him through email or over the phone.
Mr. Savannah and I have met with our priest twice so far... The first meeting he just asked us questions and filled out the paperwork (which I had ALREADY turned in... but he wanted to fill out his own), the second meeting we took the FOCUS test and then he chatted with us for about 20 mins... we get the results of our FOCUS this Saturday, and I am curious how we did :) We are doing our marriage prep weekend the end of this month and I am not sure if he will have us do much else after that...
We met ours once to set up our pre-cana work and then we are meeting with him again in a month. However, we did the "counseling" meeting types with a certified marriage counselor we met three times in a two month span. My MOH did the counseling meetings with her Decon and they met about 5 times in a 6 month period. Depends on the church. Basically Rome says there needs to be 6mos of prep with a variety of things involved in that. However, how your particular parish decides to do it is up to them.
If you are having problems with the priest's punctuality, why not call the day before to "confirm" your appt? That way you can put a little bug in his ear that you will be there on time. Or, try to schedule your appts earlier in the afternoons. Our priest is super busy in the evenings and after meeting with a handful of other couples, sometimes appts run over and everything gets backed up, like being at the doctor's office.
We haven't met with our at all! We originally booked the church a year ago and since then that priest was transferred to a different parish. We've contacted the "new" priest several times, but he has yet to get back to us! I'm getting very frustrated and just want to start the marriage prep and begin planning the ceremony. (We're doing a full mass.) Right now I feel like I have a reception, but no wedding!

Just curious, it seems like ours expects a whole lot, which I don't mind, I think it's nice that he's getting to know us as a couple and is having reflect and discuss a lot of things. However, it's just more time and he's always so busy, so he tends to overbook appointments so we end up waiting around quite a bit.
So how many times did you and your FH/H meet with your priest?
