Just wondering if yall ever get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I got up like 3 times last night! It was so annoying. I am a really light sleeper so I am very aware if I have to pee or not. I usually get up at least once....
I don't get up to pee during the night!
Unless I am sleeping in and then I have to pee at my normal wake-up time because my body naturally wakes up at 7.
@HoneyBear: I hate getting up. I'd so much rather stay in bed....sometimes I ignore it, lol So unless it's overbearing, which isn't much I don't get up. So, regularly I don't have to get up to go.
ohhh, not good. You shouldn't have to wake up to go to the bathroom at all if you are under the age of 65. (which I'm assuming you are!) Try not drinking anything for an hour before bed time if getting up at night bothers you.
Zero... even when I sleep more than usual, I don't get up to pee until I wake up for the day.
I usually get up about 2-3 times. It's awful, but I love knowing I still have time to go back to sleep before I HAVE to wake up!
Man, thats crazy! Hmmm... Maybe I should talk to my doctor...
Yeah I agree not normal on an everyday basis. It's usually a sign of a kidney or bladder infection, amongst other issues.
@HoneyBear: Actually, it could be from a few medications if you're on any, along with just plain ol drinking too much.
I hardly ever get up either! Sometimes my puppy wakes me up for a potty break at 4-5am, so if he does, I will go then too.
Every once in a while I will get up to pee at night but not usually - I always try to wait until its around the time I'm going to be waking up!
I can't remember ever having to wake up during the night to pee.
I usually wake up about 15 minutes before our alarm goes off, get up, pee, and crawl back in bed and snuggle with J until it's time to get up. If I'm extra tired and my internal alarm doesn't wake me for some reason, I have to barge in on him and pee while he's in the shower, hahahaha....
I don't either ... maybe its because I go to the bathroom before I got to bed like clockwork. That could be why. lol
"Never, I have a camel bladder."
OMG, that is freaking hilarious! And I guess totally true for me, because I get up in the middle of the night to pee maybe once every 1-2 months. Even when I chug a huge glass of water before bed, I don't get up until the morning. I'm a very light sleeper as well.
And on the rare occasion that I do get up to pee, FH asks me what's wrong because he's not used to me getting up.
I am so surpised by the poll lol. I guess I was hoping I wasn't such a freak of nature. Maybe ill talk to my doc hehe
I said 1-2, but it's almost always 2. Maybe once every couple weeks I make it through the night without any, and once a week or so I hit three times.
Eek, medical issues? I always assumed it was because I drink over a gallon of water a day, not including other beverages.
Normally, never. For the past year though I've been problems with my bladder that I have these "flare-ups", anywhere from a couple days to several weeks, that I sometimes have to go every 15 min, get up 1-2 times at night, and constantly have pain. I suspect I may have a condition called Interstitial Cystitis and I'm really upset about it :( I'm seeing a doctor next week that a Bee recommended.
@HoneyBear: I'm usually up 2-3 times a night, and I've been checked out for everything- no medical problems. It could just be how you are, you can try not drinking for a few hours before bed. (I tried it once, and I woke up in the middle of night dying of thirst- I think I'm just too light of a sleeper.)
If I pee before I go to bed, I normally dont wake up at all.
@IlsaLund: Hahaha, I wake up in the middle of the night thirsty, too.
I'm not worried, either... I've been diabetes tested so many times because doctors hear "always thirsty" and insist on testing me over and over. I actually think it's that i've become acclamated to drinking so much water that I get thirsty if I have less.
It's only occassionaly I do wake-up and it tends be only the once, it can be twice but I think it's when something's on my mind.
Always. It's been a problem my entire life. I'm on vesicare now for hyperactive bladder--very expensive, not much improvement.
Chronically sleep deprived.
I go pee right before bed and never have to get up to go. I can only remember having to get up once in the middle of the night.
DH on the other hand...I told him he was no longer allowed liquids after 7pm. (I'm totally kidding...sometimes)
I dont drink anything for a few hours before bed, and I am crazy about peeing before we go to sleep. I have to go to the bathroom when I get ready for bed, then I read for a while, then right before lights out I go again. I have no idea when or why Ive gotten so paranoid. It doesnt matter if I read for 3 minutes or 30, I will still force myself to go. The worst is when FI wants to get fristy after lights out, because then I have to go again after we are done and its like...really? Where is it suppose to come from??
I know I am a freak of nature though.
I would have voted (if there was the option) for 0-1. Very rarely I have to get up to go early in the morning. Otherwise, I never do.
Very rarely and usually only when one of my cats wakes me up.
I try to make sure I pee before I fall asleep and then I'm good until about 6:30am. If I feel like sleeping in, I'll ignore it until I can't anymore but sometimes I have to tell myself that if I do that, I could ruin my bladder hah
I rarely, if ever, get up in the middle of the night. However, I more than make up for it during the day. I always have a 24 oz waterbottle with me that I fill up 2-4 times a day.
@Entangled: I've been tested so many times too! I'm always thirsty, I pee all the time, and those are both red flags- but every single time, it's fine. Not even close.
I tinkle 2-3 times every night! I think it's because I work in the schools and MAY get to use the restroom once during the day. I don't like waking so much at night, but I don't really have a choice.
Oh I envy you Camel Bladder girls!!!! I'm convinced mine's the size of a pea :(
Nowadays, 1 or 2 times, but that's because I'm prego. Pre-pregnancy, I'd occasionally wake up once, but for the most part it never woke me up at night.
I've had a combination of sleeping 12-14 hours a night, plus having a bladder the size of a walnut. Fortunately, I've now got a CPAP, which I'm hoping will deal with the former problem.
I used to sleep all night through, but now that I sleep with my FI I wake up 2-3 times. It is so annoying because I never feel like I get a solid nights sleep. *Sigh* I always feel super lucky to sleep all night through now...damn men! lol
I WISH I had a camel bladder! Some nights I can sleep straight through, other nights I get up 1-2 times. If when I'm falling asleep and if I have even the slightest urge to pee, I HAVE TO get up and go, otherwise I'd be afraid that I would have to interrupt my sleep later in the night to go. Then there are the times that I'm worried that I'm not hydrated enough and I drink some water before bed. Well sometimes that goes straight through me! It's a battle between my brain and bladder, I tell ya!
