FI was recently best man in a wedding and once it was over, he said he was glad he wouldn’t have to do that again and I asked what he meant. He didn’t think any of his other friends would choose him as a best man. I started naming people and he was like oh yea, you’re right. He’s a much bigger role in the lives of our friends than he seems to realize.
While it’s wrong to assume you’ll have a role in anyone else’s weddings, how many times have you been/think you will be the best man/maid of honor/matron of honor?
Personally, I think almost for sure one of my best friends’ and my sister’s. There are a couple others where I can see myself as a definite contender. I know the girl I picked as my MOH has said that if it weren’t for her 3 other sisters, she’d pick me. So who knows.

None. =/ I’m only super close to two people (my BM’s) and neither of them wants to have a big wedding. One doesnt ever want to get married, and the other just wants to elope and then have a reception in a restaurant.

None. I have been asked once, but I declined. Honestly I don’t really want to be in anyone’s wedding because (and I know this just sounds awful) I don’t want to ruin their pictures with my wheelchair, which I consider kind of an eyesore and distracting in photos :-/ So yeah… I don’t plan to be in anyone’s wedding unless the friend absolutely insists.
Otherwise then I think I would probably have been a MOH for 3-4 weddings. I am happy being a guest 🙂

@HonoraryNerd: I’m hoping only the one time, I hate being in wedding parties.

I’ve been MOH once and been in 2 wedding that didn’t have an MOH. I’m currently about to be a bridesmaid in another wedding. And most of my close friends and family are now married. I’ll probably never be in a wedding again, maybe as a bridesmaid. But who knows.

I won’t be maid of honor. My best friend who is my maid of honor is having her sister as her maid of honor. My other 2 bridesmaids are already married. Unless my brothers girlfriend has me as her MOH (which I doubt since she probably has friends who she is closer with) than I won’t even have been MOH.

Zero. Every single one of my girl friends have sisters that will be MOH. The only person I can think of is my SIL, but I’m not very close to her. She has other friends that I’m sure she would ask before me and at this point I am not sure if she even wants to get married.
Always a bridemaid, never a maid of honor. Sigh. 😉

@HonoraryNerd: I have to MOH’s right now, I’m certain I’ll be there MOH’s when they get married. After that, I will probably be a bridesmaid a few time’s between all my single friends and my FI’s little sister.

@HonoraryNerd: I think I’ll be my sister’s MOH, and maybeI think two of my friends.

I was one this summer, and I swore that I’d never do it again, except for my only sister. Hated it. BUT at least with my sister, I can be blunt with her lol

I think 0. I only have one sibling and she’s already married with no wedding party (I did the same thing – wedding parties just seemed too fussy to both of us). My couple best friends are either married with no wedding parties as well, or with big wedding parties with no MOH. So I’m off the hook!

I was twice for my two maids of honor. I don’t imagine being so again. Maybe I’ll be a bm when my little bro gets married but he’s single.
I guess I could see myself in a few weddings on FI’s side but yeah, no more MOH for me.

At this point, never. I’m 43 and haven’t ever been a BM!

@HonoraryNerd: One, and I’ve already done it (my sister). I was also a BM for a very close friend and I know that will be it.
It’s easy when all your friends are married 😛

Probably just once – for my sister. She was my MOH and I’m pretty sure I would be hers too.
