I am only 21 years old and I have been a flower girl, junior bridesmaid x 2, and bridesmaid x 2. I have a HUGE family… haha. I am the first of my close friends to get married, so the wedding party count will only go up in the future! 🙂 It is so much fun. And I guarantee after going through all of this wedding stuff, that I would be a an awesome bridesmaid in the future!

I’ve been a bridesmaid once and a maid of honor once. And my team of bridesmaids is infinitely better, more experienced than either of those weddings!

Four, two as a MOH, one as an honorary. Was asked to be an honorary another time, but coudln’t do it due to a work conflit. Funny, I only asked two of those girls to be in my wedding (the ones for whom I was MOH).

I’ve never been one!  I was a flower girl once when I was seven, but that is as close as I’ve gotten.  Now I suppose I’ll never be one, unless one of my friends decides to get married in the next eight months!  (I guess I wouldn’t mind being a bride’s matron at some point, but it just doesn’t sound as cool.)

Never– most of my friends are guys, too.  In college we used to joke about how I’d have to have bridesdudes on my side to make the numbers even, but that’s not actually the case now.

I have been a BM 5 times (I’m 23) and those closest to me have yet to get married… If you have yet to be one, here are some tips:

    – Just do what the bride wants. No point in complaining

    – It will be expensive, so save up!

    – Put your jealousies to the side.

    – Put your dress on Ebay once the wedding is over. (Ive made $$ this way!)

    – Work with the other BM’s!!!

    – Have fun. Its work, but don’t forget to enjoy it!

I was one for my best friend’s wedding.  I was young and depressed and I don’t think I did a very good job.  I did plan an awesome bachelorette party.  I wish I could go back and do again right.  She was my maid of honor just this last year and she went above and beyond.  Then again, we’re a whole lot older and are much more mature.

i’ve been a MOH once and a BM twice. i personally sucked being all three IMHO.

the first time i was a BM, i was under 21 and it was for my Godsister’s wedding… she was already in her mid to late 20s at the time. so there was a lot i couldn’t participate in with the pre-wedding stuff. i also was so young… 18 or 19 in fact… that i didn’t even know what it took to be a BM.

the second time, i was MOH for my sister. a few months after she got engaged, i moved 1500 miles away for school. i didn’t get the chance to really help her out with anything because she insisted i focus on school and just let her other BMs take the load. generous as that was of her to do, it still made me feel crappy that i couldn’t be the spectacular MOH she’s been for me right now. i cry to her about it to this day… and that was in 2005.

and the last time i was a BM, it was for my cousin-in-law. she didn’t have sisters and her brother passed away a few years prior to her getting married. when her and my cousin started dating, my sister and i kind of adopted her as our other sister and became really close. but again, i was 1500 miles away and still in school and couldn’t do much at all to help her with her planning.

i hope if someone asks me to be a BM in the future, i can be as kick a*s as i have always wanted to be and make up for being such a crappy BM/MOH in the past!!!
