So we started registering a couple of weeks ago. So far FI and I have been to BB&B 2x, at and hour and a half each time, and my mom and I have been to Macy’s one time (2 hours). Not counting all the time I have spent online. Is it just me, or is/has anyone else spent a lot more time on this than they thought they would?
Also, we only have about 120 things on our lists combined, and we are “supposed” to have more than twice that for a 225 person wedding! We still have to do towels and bedding, so that will be one more trip to Macy’s. I hope and pray that’s the last trip!
How much time/trips did it take you ladies to get through the registry process?
I don’t want to seem ungrateful here. I just never thought it would be this stressful! 🙂

We did it in one shot, and if we forgot something we added it on-line. I couldn’t imagine going more than more once.

We’ve gone quite a few times (I chose 4+). We are registered at 3 stores, and for all of them you can’t modify the registry online, so any changes we had to make had to be done in person. Plus, FIs Dad kept stressing that we didn’t have enough items and not enough expensive items. Sheesh, you’re right about stress! We finally just gave up – we’re not going to add random useless crap that we don’t really want or need just for people can buy it for us. Hoping it will all work out!

@mwitter80: I know! Before we started I never thought it would take more than one trip per store.
I think I am over thinking it a little. I just got so overwhelmed with all the kitchen stuff. We only wanted to upgrade some thhings since we both have been on our own for years. It seemed simple enough until we got there and saw everything there is to choose from. I mean, there are like 100 coffee makers! I should have done some research before hand and been more organized. lol!

We did all of ours online. Since our wedding is so tiny, we didn’t register for much.

It is a continual process for us. We have started with the basic stuff and stuff we really want and will continue to add more as things are purchased or as the wedding gets closer, if the number of items gets too low. And since we just bought a house, we keep finding things that we need/want that we didn’t realized right away.

We just went once and then added online.

It took us 2 trips…
The first we spent like 2hours in just kitchen stuff at BB&B and we were so done! We finally went back like 6mths later and finished out at BB&B and Target =)

We actually never went to any stores and did it all online… We had a pretty good idea of what we wanted/ needed though.

We went to Target one time and Crate and Barrel one time. We didnt finish registering during those trips, I finished online later

We went to each store once, but I’ve done a LOT of tweaking online. I would die if it all had to be done in-person; I’m so indecisive! I’ve also had a few occasions where I’m cooking something special or hosting a small party and gone, “oh! I need x!” and went to put it/them on the registry. It’s more fun to play often!

Most of my registry is at 2 stores, but I have things at 2 other stores. Of these, only 1 has a good online system. 2 only let you changes numbers of an item, and the last only has some items available to add online. With items being discontinued, some indecisiveness and being told I needed more things I’ve been to my 2 main stores 3 times each.

We went one time, got super overwhelmed, and continued working on it online. I still haven’t finished it yet, I’m way too indecisive.

I’ve set up both my registries entirely online, so 0 trips!

- Wedding: September 2011 - Clark Gardens
Did all of our registering online, except for the things I wanted to touch a feel – towels and bedding. So we went into the stores to do that. Registering in the stores was a lot less fun than doing it online. The scanner gun kept dying, we couldn’t get the registry pulled up so we could add to it, and quickly lost the attention of FI.
Online was much better!!!!
