Mine will be 2 tiers, which will be more than enough for our tiny wedding :)
3 but it's supposed to be enough for 100 pieces, plus another large cake, in addition to a traditional Norwegian almond cake-thing
I should add that there are sweet thooths (teeth?) on both sides
3 tiers, and that's all we'll have (but there will be a separate dessert that will be plated...so the cake is just for having tiny pieces with coffee). Sounds like we're having a relatively tiny cake!
@Knubbsy-Wubbsy: Are you having a kransekake? I think we might wind up having ours at the rehearsal since bringing in outside food makes our venue very nervous. FI is half Norwegian :-)
i think we're going with 3 tiers and a sheetcake in the back (it's like $300 cheaper than having 4 tiers) and then a groom's cake
While we are having a large wedding we are only having a 2 tier cake and then we are doing cupcakes in a few different flavors for everyone.
I would like 4 tiers but I think we will have 3 tiers and we may need some sheet cake because I have 175 guests
I had 4 tiers but one of them was fake. We didn't need all of the cake for our 100 guests but I wanted to look of a taller cake.
3 tiers, maybe 1 or 2 of them fake, and lots of 'secret-sheet-cakes' in the back. I can't imagine having to buy a cake to feed 300ish, and then have to cut something so pretty and tall into itsy bitsy pieces.
4 tiers on the wedding cake serves 100
then a grooms cake that serves about 50 :)
4 tiers (top one is for us to keep for our anniversary), plus a groom's cake.
4! even though its suppose to feed 81 more people than we are having....
we had 3 tiers
120 guests and i took my top tier home which we ate when we got back from our honeymoon haha- my cake lady said they taste like crap after a year in the freezer and to remind her of our 1 year and she will remake the top tier! pretty awesome!

We're having 3 for the actual cake (of very small sizes), but I'm ordering additional trays to make sure every guest gets a piece.
