This might be an inappropriate question but I was just wondering around how much everyone paid for their dress. I sometimes I think I overpaid for mine...not that I think it was expensive I actually budgeted for a lot more it was around $800.00 with the veil. and my budget ( I should say my FI budget lol) was $2,000.
I had a budget of $1K and mine came in just under, I think around $920, without alterations or veil.
You should make a poll with different ranges. Some people might not want to tell everyone with their names, but wouldn't mind saying so in a poll.
I'm pretty darn proud of my $300 price.....bought a sample dress (perfect condition).....well, I will probably pay $100 for alterations because it was too big....and whatever a veil costs on top of that. Still proud.
the actual dress itself cost $850 - but the whole ensamble:
dress - $850
veil, gloves, crinolin, bra = $250
shoes - $65
jewelry - $30
TOTAL = (rounded) = $1200
we wanted to stay around $600 for the dress - but even my mom - who was all about the budget - fell in love with the dress and bought it for me even though it was "over budge"...
My budget is $3000 but Im hope to go under budget...
I didn't have a set budget in mind, but it ended up being $850. Then $200 for alterations, $50 for shoes, about $100 for accessories, for a total of $1200.
I got mine as a sample so I paid ~$700. My mom's making my veil. And shoes were around $60, I think. Not a bad deal.
My dress was $450.00, bought from another bride who bought it and then decided to go a different way. The dress was origionally well over 1,000, which was 500 more than my budget.
Veil FYI, since I saw someone else mention veils . . . I was shocked at how expensive veils were in the bridal shops! I ordered mine online through veilshop.com. They have a great return policy, so even if you're hesitant about ordering online, I would check them out!
i was willing to go up to $1500 (if i REALLY loved it) but my actual budget was $1000. i ended up finding something i loved that ended up being right around $700, which made me love it more :)
Mom really wanted to buy my dress. She gave me a budget of $1500 (I think she was ready to spend up to $2k though) and my dress was $850 - $1084 with taxes and alterations. Not too bad.
The shoes were $425 (!!!) and were a gift to me from my soon-to-be MIL. I love that lady.
All the other accessories came out to around $100 (Hair flower, bracelets). I have my eye on 2 swarovski cuffs though, so if by some miracle I can get them they're about $350.
I got my dress for $106. Went to a small, local boutique and they had a huge sale. Since the wedding is very casual, on the beach, I decided to go with something super simple. WIth alterations it will cost me a total of $150. ;-)
Mine was $300 + tax. The veil was $80, and I also got a fancy lace ribbon for $50.
I still need shoes (I am hoping for under $50)
Got my dress for $400 (!), paid about $230 in alterations, and my shoes were $20. I think I did pretty good! :)
$299 for the dress. About $20 for the headpiece and veil, both DIY. $40 for the shoes. Looking at around $220 for alterations with hemming it, around $145 if I decide not to hem it.
I paid about $800 for my dress, $20 for shoes and about $40 for the veils (I'm making my own veils, so far I have the birdcage, now I just need the waltz length veil done).
If I realllllllly loved it, I was willing to spend up to $1300, but mine ended up being $920 -> $970 w/ tax. Its a Casablanca, which is extremely customizable. There are a few customizations I wanted and the store is going to cover that cost. I'm going to need bust alterations, but thats it and IDK how much that will be.
My Augusta Jones dress was regularly 2400 but I got it as a sample, so it came down to $1800. More than I wanted to pay but i just loved it and it fit me perfectly.
My dress was technically a bridesmaid dress and cost $200. I just got it in white! With alterations, I think it might've come to $250 tops (all I needed done was the hemline). I loved it!
Dress-$300
(Alterations-$150)
Veil-$250
Shoes-$30
Jewelry-$0 (something old)
Got my dress on ebay and used a store credit to buy the matching veil and have them take in the dress. Since the dress retailed for $1800, I consider it a steal!
Mine was $1290 and alterations will be $300. I wanted my total attire to be under $2000 and it looks like it will be just barely. I definitely budgeted more in this area to skimp in others!
I got the dress for $575 (originally $725) plus conversion to corset for $150= $725 total. Further alterations (alter to sweetheart neck, hem & bustle) I'm budgeting $500 but feel that's prolly way high. I'm planning to make the veil for ~$40 and if it doesn't work borrowing my friend's fingertip mantilla for free. I'm not a big shoe person, so I just want to find basic comfy blue flats for <$20. I'm planning on staying under $1300, ideally under $1000. Original budget was $2000 so I'm happy=)
$660 with alterations. My budget was $1000 but I'm so happy to have stayed well under it so I can use that money elsewhere!
Dress $156.00 (shipping, alterations, everything!)
Veil $29.00 (included shipping)
Shoes $19.00
Hair Flower $.99
Dress $6,100
Veil $100
Shoes $125
Bando Headbang $165
Alterations $1,100
TOTAL: $7,590
My budget was $5K and my dress was $5,400 before tax (darned NYC). So I was over budget. My Mom bought my shoes which were around $600 and my veils are $150 and $250 (I know, I am a 2-veil bride instead of a 2-dress bride). I'm gonig to borrow earrings (don't know whose yet!) and the only other jewelry I will wear are my rings! :)
No set budget, just not "a lot" haha
Tag price was $1500 but with 20% off August sale came to about $1200.
Custom veil from bridal shop: $230
Shoes: $55 or $155 (I have two pairs, not sure which will work yet!)
Bra/Shaper: $55
Hair Comb: $45
Haven't done alterations yet... wish the dress would come in, already!
I budgeted 5K and came in under:
dress: 3600
veil: 450
alterations: 450
shoes:100
total: 4600
It's only a little bit under, but hey, 400 bucks is 400 bucks!
I didn't have a set budget, which I wouldn't recommend anyone going shopping without one :) Here's my stats:
Dress: 2600
Veil: 150
Shoes: 300 (I was set on these and had to splurge for them)
Hair Piece: 30
Alterations- Unknown but I know it will probably be over 500
I won't be telling my future husband any of these figures. He said he just wants me to be happy and he'd rather not know LOL
My budget was $1000 and I came in right under. My dress was originally $1100 and I got 20% off. So with tax it was around $950.
Honestly, 140$. And it is GORGEOUS. I bought it on Ebay! lol, i know when i told people they were freaking out for me saying "how do you know its going to fit?? are you crazy? what if it doesnt come in time!" but im pretty relaxed about the whole thing, i took my measurements and everything and sent them with the order. but hey, if all else fails and i have to buy another dress, atleast its only 140$ wasted!
My budget was around $800 for the dress. I ended up spending $400 on the dress, $35 on the veil, and $90 for the shoes (sandals! i wear them all the time, too) so I did A-OK me thinks. I probably woulda splurged on the dress more if DH and I weren't paying for the wedding ourselves, though. But it wasn't feasible
I fell in love with my dress for $1000 in the bridal shop. I found it online half of that and just sent off my payment for the same dress, my exact size, brand new for $300!!!! I found it on craigslist
dress....1300
veil.......180
still need shoes, jewelry, bra, and the poofy skirt to go under the dress
So...I found my dress before I got engaged, WAY before we set up a budget. My dress is extremely expensive, and we actually sculpted the budget around it. Attire total, when all is said and done, will be around $12k ($10k is the dress pre-alterations). It was an enormous priority for me. Hell, if I had to have my wedding in the courthouse in order to have that dress I would've done it.
The one I'm most likely getting is $600. That's not including alterations or anything, but it's worth it because it's helping out my hometown where a lot of bridal shops are going out of business (one shop less than a block away is closing as soon as they sell off their inventory). I honestly can't wait to try it on, because I just know it's going to be perfect haha!
My dress was $500 on eBay, luckily the bride happened to be the same height as me, so I don't need to shorten it (I'm only 5'2") and it fits like a glove! I'm making my birdcage veil and fascinator, and shoes are Carlos Santana's on sale for $65...I think I did pretty well :-D
Mine was $3800, with a $380 custom made hairpiece from a milliner, $150 shoes (but now they're too high after dress alterations and I need new ones!), $120 feather shrug, and I forget how much it was for my bridal underwear, earrings (from Etsy), and garter. My handbag and bracelet were both vintage and inexpensive, and I'm wearing a pendant I already had. Don't know how much alterations will cost yet.
This is the first time I've calculated it.. eek!
