It depends on who they are to me. If it's just an acquitance they would get less than a family member who would get less than my best friend.

It does say more than I usally gift though.
It totally depends for us. Usually if I attend a wedding of an acquaintance alone, I gift $50.00, if DH joins me, $100 as the "base" gift. Then add on as I see fit based on how close we are with the people/what we can afford at the moment.
I agree with @MissAsB:.
It really depends on how close we are to them and whether or not they are family. The last family member's wedding had a registry and we got them cookware valued at almost $400.00. When they gifted us, they gave us $20.00, so I don't really know what the norm is.

money should a person give as a gift at a wedding? Lets say a marrying couple didnt have a registry or you wanted to give a monetary gift in lieu of a regular "registered" gift....whats the norm/average amount? What would YOU give?
