@tati123: There was a thread about this earlier that might be helpful.

I'll play :) I just ordered my dress this weekend! I ordered the Enzoani Diana, and it was $2450, which included a flower sash that's made for the dress. I went a bit over budget. I had really wanted to stay under $2000, but as soon as I saw this dress in person I just knew it was for me. I even slept on it for a few weeks, went to two other stores to try on other dresses and convince myself the Diana just wasn't "my" dress. I also tried the Diana on three different occasions, just to make SURE, lol. In the end, I knew I would regret it forever if I didn't get it. I just decided I would try to save money on other things (ex. flowers) because the dress is one of the most important things to me.
As far as bargaining--I'm really not the best haggler. But, I did call every store within driving distance that carried Diana to see what price they quoted me. If you can, I would HIGHLY suggest doing this. I had quotes as much as $800 over what I ended up spending! It is truly insane how different the markups are at different locations.

@tati123: No problem. I was looking for something similar when I started dress shopping. All I had to go by for pricing was Say Yes to the Dress.
I tried on 60ish dresses before finding my dress. I went back and forth between a few dresses before deciding on "the one".
How much did you pay? approx 1350.00....( 1500.80 with veil)
Who/what company made your dress? Adorae - Sottero and Midgely
Any photos you can show me? This dress is 6 sizes to big! Haha My dress comes in in june!!!

Advice: SHOP AROUND! I found this dress at two different stores with a $75 price difference.
I paid $1500 it's by Mon Cheri Bridal. If you are looking for a good designer deal, try a second hand store, or an off the rack store.

How much did you pay?
$1,000 for the dress (I also got a lot of lace added on, and forgot how much we paid for that)
Who/what company made your dress?
Robin Jillian
Sorry about the mess in the room. I was visiting my mom's house and my suit case and stuff was on the ground.
I paid $850 + Tax...originally $1700 but got it as the floor sample that had just come in and it was last season
Its a Mikaella

I paid $940 including the dress, veil, and earrings - dress is by Pattis. It's a sample sale so that definitely helped..the original price tag was $1600.00. They had marked it down to $1300 and I kept talking them down (lol they asked me not to tell for obvious reasons). I always go by the "if you don't ask, you don't get" mantra. Good luck!
NotFroofy's and my dresses were under $500 each. We got them from a consignment store. Mine was a David's Bridal 5268:

NotFroofy's was an Emme Bridal (now Da Vinci Bridal), but we never figured out the style:

In addition to saving money by buying from a consignment store, we got to try on the actual dresses in our sizes, and were able to take the dresses home the same day instead of waiting for months.
@pinkhorse: Mine's Robin Jillian too! :)
We paid $1,500 for it.
How much did you pay? 1600, but that doesn't include any alterations, jewelry, etc, as I have not gotten the dress from the shop yet. It'll be in sometime in June!
Who/what company made your dress? Maggie Sottero - Ambrosia
Any photos you can show me? Nope :/ I'm not posting any online until after the wedding so FI can't find them hehe!
Also, any advice on how to shop and get a better deal? I knew what dress I wanted over a year before we even got engaged, so I only know what I've heard from other brides ... try on a bunch until you have that feeling, then wait a week to buy it. If the week passes and you haven't gone crazy yet, then it's not the dress. If you have gone crazy, order it.
I paid $1000 for my dress - pre alteration and accessories. Afterward it should be about $300 :(. Justin Alexander made my dress
here is mine!

my mom bought it and i believe she payed around 850- its eden bridals 1379 :)
alterations should be 200-300...
my best advise is dont get discouraged... it took me 5 bridal shops and countless dresses... youll find the one :) and i dont know about getting deals as mine was already cheap... but check out the bridal shows... a few i went to gave out free shoes or veil with dress purchase, or a couple hundred off, etc...
Ramona Keveza and my dress was 3500 before alterations.
Try Sample sale gowns or second hand for a good deal!
mine was $1160 including tax, then alterations were another $620 (which freaked me out). it is Jenna by Maggie Sottero. here it is pre-alterations
mine is blue by enzoani's dijon. it was $1600. that was not how much i wanted to spend but fell in love with it! no regrets!
can't wait til she comes in!

My dress is Blue by Enzonai's Dalby. It cost $1700 including in a major Canadian city with 15% off for a trunk sale. My veil was $125. The biggest thing with getting wedding discounts is to ASK! "Is this the best price you can give me?" Remember - if they can give you the discount with the coupon you get at a bridal show, they can give it to you without it.
My first dress was an Amsale that I got for $539.
The dress I'm wearing is White by Vera Wang from David's Bridal and I paid $900 because of my discount.
Mori Lee 3036 $900. No pics of me in it yet. I ordered it and it came in 2 weeks later!

Casablanca 1971 in white. $1070, not including alterations.

How much did you pay? £1225 (don't know what that is in $)
Who/what company made your dress? Benjamin Roberts (Anjolique in the US)
My general advice would be to try on all different shapes and styles.
How much did you pay? i paid £580 which i think is around $950 in dollar.
its a maggie sottero, it the sabelle in light gold pewter accent.
Any photos you can show me?

Also, any advice on how to shop and get a better deal?
i fell in love with this dress after a friend of mine told me maggie's site. i found a store with it, tried it on and was just about to say il have it till she told me how much it was in the store .... £1450 which is $2350 in dollar!!!! so i then searched around and found a lady with one she had for her wedding, she had it cleaned and it was in absolutley perfect condition and she was a lovely lady you could tell she really loked after the dress! so i brought it for way under half the store price! the funny thing was is she was the exact same height weight and size as me, it was like it was ment to be that way!
always shop around get quotes of other stores tell stores each of their quotes to make them go down in price, thats unless you dont mind the idea of buying it second hand ! good luck
My first dress was Blue by Enzoani's Caymen [sic]. It was originally something like $1500 but I bought it for $1150 or so because it was the floor sample.
Then I changed my mind and got my deposit back. My second dress was a Galina from David's Bridal that cost around $400. Still trying to sell that one.
My actual dress is from BHLDN and cost $600. I am going for alterations in a few weeks but I don't expect them to be too much since I think I just need it shortened and taken in around the bust a little bit.
I'm too lazy to look for photos but if you check out my archives on the blog, you can see them. :)
I paid $170 for my dress from David's Bridal - unfortunately I can't share pics because I intentionally don't have any, I don't want The Guy finding them and seeing the gown before our wedding!
Allure 8766 w no alterations was $950+tax. I'll prob spend another $100-150 in alterations for a hem, bustle, and strap adjustment.

I paid $1200, with hallow to hem and we got free alterations. Don't let them talk you into a dress that is over your budget just becuase they "worked with you for a long time" or you brought in a picture of it. If you are unsure about something on a dress go with your gut. a dress that i tried on i didn't think it would be long enough and they tried to talk me into it and say that they could add an extra strip of fabric to the bottom although they didn't think they would have to, but that didn't seem right to me so I went with my gut. It was also 600 over what i told them i wanted to pay. BE VOCAL and tell them what you want!I fell that they have selective hearing.
This is the dress that I got, i don't have my picture in it b/c my mom and sister wont let me have it they think i will show everyone.

I paid $700.00 at a trunk sale (regular pricee $1800); the dress was a sample size and fit me perfectly so NO alterations are needed! I took the dress home that day (but sadly do not have pics of me in it yet). I have to take it back in for a bustle but other than that, the dress was in perfect condition!
My tips are to shop around for sales and be open to different styles. I swore I would never wear a strapless dress and they looked the best on me! The FH is going to be shocked when he sees me for the first time because all I did for the first two months of our engagement is trash talk strapless dresses!!! Be open minded :)
It's a San Patrick Prisma dress:

Mine is Impressions Amani, it was $800 which included tax and shipping. I think spent another $250 on alterations (really complicated bustle!) and pressing.

My biggest advise would be to ignore the label. Impressions isn't really a label you hear about ever but I absolutely loved my dress! I went out thinking I wanted a Maggie Sottero or something... but how much are you paying for the name? Try on anything you like even if it isn't one of the designers you think you want to get.
Hey! I went to 4 places on a Saturday and found some beautiful dresses but nothing WOW. Each store was packed, which meant I had 10-20 strangers staring each time I tried a dress on. After seeing on wedding bee that some girls try on 100 dresses I guess I had it good, but I was getting very discouraged after trying on over 20. Then I decided to stop by a place w my mom on a wed afternoon..... And I found it!!! It is isadora by Maggie Sottero. The original price was almost 1500 but I got it for 1200. Alterations at my store are guaranteed to be no more than $150. I thought "you will just know" was cliche, but it's sooo true. And once you find a dress, STOP LOOKING! I'll post a pic when I get to my comp. Good luck!!!
How much did you pay? My dress would have been $1700 with tax and shipping, but the boutique I went to offers a 10% discount off your initial purchase so I ended up paying just over $1500 (alterations and accessories not included). Who/what company made your dress? It is the Mikaella 1555. Any photos you can show me? I don't have one of me in it yet since it doesn't come in until July, but here is the picture I found online:
Advice? I would say just keep an open mind, don't let sales people pressure you into anything you're not sure about, and shop around! Also, it doesn't hurt to ask if the place offers any type of discount off your first purchase. That's how I got 10% off and saved about $150. Good luck! :)
Mine was $500 with a 20% discount and alterations were $200. It's Mori Lee. And the bolero was separate $30.00

Sincerity Bridal. $885. It's not a designer I'd ever heard of, but who cares? I feel beautiful in it and was shocked to find out it was so "inexpensive" relative to the $2000 limit I had set before!

Hiii there fellow bees! I am getting ready to start shopping for my wedding dress, and besides looking at photos in magazines, am absolutely clueless when it comes to prices/designers...
How much did you pay?
Who/what company made your dress?
Any photos you can show me?
Also, any advice on how to shop and get a better deal?
